You need to check all battery connections, even at the starter. If all is good and clean .I would say change your starter. You can have the auto parts store check it before buying a new one
Sounds like you have a bad earth or main battery cable to the starter motor look at that first if ok the starter motor may have failed

Do you have a Chip in the Key? if so that Could be the Problem,Ya see the chip is a resistor and if it looses its ELECTRONIC VALUE in its Case Resistance it wont start to test this Turn the Key in the ON posission then do the Screwdriver thing If it Starts Key is Good and Most Likely the Ignition (SWITCH) is Bad <<ELECTRICAL Side NOY LOCKEST SIDE For More Info Recontact Me

You need to find out whether it is getting gas and spark. To check the gas, depress the button in the middle of the Schraeder valve on the fuel rail. Some gas should spurt out under pressure. Still, the injectors might not be getting a signal, but I think the check engine light should tell you if that isn't working. To check the spark, disconnect one spark plug wire and provide a gap to ground where you can see it in a dimply lit place. You should be able to see a spark. Test those two things. The coils and igniter seem to go bad together.

the starter itself is going bad. the internals of it are most likely corroded and are causing a voltage drop so installing the new battery help for a little bit but now it must have gotten worse. so a replacement start is needed but also you will need to check you connection at the battery and at the starter. seeing this could cause the same problem. let me know if you have any more questions.

Your cars problem lays into the electrical system only. Wetness is causing a short. When you turn the key on and off for so many times the connections to the battery and starter get warmer each time in turn dries out the connections the contact is made so it will start.
If the car will not start at all when wet the plug wires would be at fault. Yours does start as you state so the wires are fine so far. I would check the connections of all wiring to the starter, battery, & alternator making sure they are corrosion free and tight

The security system (VATS/PassKey) is faulty. You can find a great write-up here: http://newrockies.ca , it was the only thing that saved my Park Avenue.
