Do all Moon Roofs trickle when in car washes? or raining? im told seals are fine and that it's normal long as it dont get into car? tha'ts why drains are there if theyre not blocked then thats ok..But Toyota say no should be sealed tight no trickle..I get mixed opinions about this.. They want to charge 1000k Toyota for new roof , but another person said no seals are not needing replaced, is that there General response Toyota? even i can see that the seals are ok...not worn. This is in upper passenger corner wonder if any other Rav4 Toyota trickle in?
The moon roofs do not seal with the intent to eliminate water entry. The water IS admitted past the seal around the roof, and a tray under the roof glass captures and drains the water away, thru tubes. If you are getting water entry into the car, the first thing that I would be looking for is blocked drain holes on the extreme left and right front corners of the tray under the roof. Any leaks past the sun roof should be channeld to and down the drains. There are four drains.I would open the roof and pour some water in the track and make sure it all drains

How wet is the foot well? This is likely to be one of two things. Door seal rubber or the Heater matrix.
Try this bit of detective work. Does it only get wet when it rains heavily? Is it just the front that is wet? Feel the carpet in the foot well. How high up the foot well carpet does the wetness go? Does the wetness smell of anything? Do you have a sun roof fitted? Sun roofs have drain holes that can clog up so the rain pools up in the grooves and runners then over spills inside the vehicle.
If it only gets wet after rain it could be a worn out door seal rubber or the sun roof letting water in. Door seals usually cause shallow pools of water so the wetness won't rise very high up the carpet. The sun roof sometimes causes the seats to get wet as well.
If it is wet all the time, the wetness rises high up into the foot well and it has a 'sweet' smell, it could be the small radiator unit,(the Heater Matrix), behind the dashboard that supplies heat to the heater blowers leaking. Depending on where exactly it is fitted you'll sometimes get wetness in both front foot wells. The smell is the coolant from the engine.
Hope this helps.
Metal roofing offers many advantages over conventional asphalt shingle roofs. To name a few, metal does not contain any petroleum based products that go in the production of asphalt roofing products and end up in our landfills once the asphalt shingles have served their purpose and are no longer useful. On average, metal roofs can last two to three times longer than asphalt shingle roofs. This means that a metal roof may well be the last roof you ever have to pay for. Should you decide to sell your property at some time down the road, metal roofing will provide a highly sought after curb appeal, and increased value in your property as well.
Clear the drain tubes with compressed air. one on each side of the window at the back. But they can only let so much water out. If the seal on the window is bad, they won't be able to handle all the water, will leak inside. Those seals aren't cheap and are a pain to replace. If you don't use or need it to open. Shut it and silicone it on top. This will stop your problem.
There should be some way to manually close it. Look at the owners manual for help. All Power roofs that I have seen, has a small trim cover hiding a bolt or something like that. All it takes is an Allen wench or socket to crank on and close it. For more details RV Roof Repair Leaks Repair
Either it' has not been used in some time and needs to be cleaned and lubricated or the motor for the moon roof is gone .....you can also check the side of the moon roofs motor to see if you can turn it up some to make it go faster ....hope it helps you out ...if not ...change the moon roofs motor
