1984 ? trade it in on the goverment cash back schemes against a new car ,this is a old car and it could have a lot of problems and to diagnose it correctly i would need my head under the bonnet

When you check at the terminal the motor is running or not?If not, check it with a running motor

Yes the points on the relays need to be clean. If the fuel pump does not turn on when you turn the key on the relay is bad.

It could be low fuel pressure, or a vac leak, or a problem with the idle air control valve. Also the mass air flow meter, or the cold start valve.I would start with testing the fuel pressure and the mass air flow meter.

You need to check the engine control module for fault codes, go HERE to learn how. If no codes are present you may need to replace the starter switch, it is operated by the ignition lock cyinder and is under the steering column trim covers.

You need to replace the fuel tanl, fuel pump and fuel filter. Also you must do an oil change too.

The needle bounce may be related to the cable, it may be broken or just needs lube.Remove the speedometer cable, locate the connection at the transmission and unscrew it, then locate the connection at the rear of the speedometer, remove the cable from the car, pull cable out of plastic housing and see if it comes out in two parts, if it does then cable needs replacing.You will see the cable has two ends, is the cable is broke replace it, a broken cable will sometimes spin and not spin causing needle to jump, also a binding cable will do the same, if cable is good then spray wd40 in to cable and spin by hand. note; if cable is binding you will need to work it so it does not break. good day
