Hello,
I just bought a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport (3L V6, Automatic) and the cruise control isn't working. I looked into the fuses, but the one listed for the cruise also runs about 10 other things that are all working.
Anyone have any ideas on common failures or where I can d/l schematics?
Ford had a recall for the cruise control you might want to take it to them and have them looked at it.... i took mine to them and they changed all kinds of stuff that was not broke but had been recalled

Yes, the horn does work.
Also, not sure if this would eliminate the clock spring, but the lamps for the cruise control switches also work
The recall info was the ticket. I looked into the recalls for my vehicle, and the one for the sensor on the master brake cylinder had not been done. When I looked into it, I had found that the previous owners (or their mechanic) had pulled the connector off of the sensor instead of getting it serviced. It was taped up and stuffed down the firewall, so I never noticed it. I plugged it in, and the cruise control now works! So, it's off to the Ford Dealership for the update on my recalls! Thank you!!!
