Okay, since this model does not have a MAF sensor but does have a MAP sensor, does that do the same job? If it doesn't, what on the 04 trailblazer does the job of a MAF sensor. Also, what does the MAP sensor do and can it be cleaned or is there a seal around it that is usually replaced to help with air losses? Thank you to anyone that takes time out of their day to answer this and help a disabled person. Since I am on a fixed income, I have to try to do this work myself. Oh, one last thing, can I just blow out the air filter with my compressor hose or does it need to be replaced? It is the factory filter and car has over 150,000 miles. I just changed spark plugs and coil packs.
For our I6 engine....The MAP sensor is located on drivers side right next to the firewall very top, easy to get to. It does have a seal, as you'll notice when you pull it out, very hard to leak air though. It CAN be clean with a MAP sensor spray cleaner, usually doesn't work though if the sensor is going bad. Using the compressor to clean your air filter only works so many times. I'd replace that. On a side note, our engines love AC Delco 41-103 spark plugs, others won't run quite as well.

Hi this is a common problem in the trailblazer line the light brakes stop working on mine but it was really not the bulbs it was the socket I got a recall from Chevrolet to replace all the back lights with a new set but this did not fix the problem what happen is that the socket is not making a good connection with the bulb wires take one bulb out and you will see how the wires are black you can tell they got hot because they are not making a good connection and brake light stop working and to take then out open the rear gate and you will see the 2 screws for the tail light assembly once you get the assembly out you will see a 2 plastic connectors remove then and another 3 screws holding the light bulbs take those 3 screws out and then you can get to the light bulbs what I did to fix this problem I bend the wires in the bulb just a bit to make a better connection and avoid then to get hot once you get a bulb out of the socket you will be able to know better what I am talking about

Check your fuel pressure, and or injectors. You may have too much fuel getting into the engine causing it to burn rich and overheat the converters.
