92 Subaru Loyale Hood cable busted

Someone with skills/tools to enter a car with the keys locked in it may be able to get you in there.Ask a locksmith(they will probably charge less if you bring the car to them). The various vehicle entry tools to open a door might also work to open the hood.

I have a 1992 Subaru

Hello
Please make sure you are doing the OBD1 fault code retrieval test correctly, there is no code 7, all fault code for the OBD1 system are two digit. Here is a link to the code retrieval procedure and the codes which are listed at the bottom of the page.

1993 subaru loyale wagon hood release assembly has come loose

I just helped my brother get into the engine compartment of is 1996 or 1997 Loyale when his cable broke. I used a loop of hanger wire, bent it in half then bent the loop so there was a kink in it about 45 degrees at about 2 inches from the end. I was able to go to the back of the latch (closest to the engine) and with a couple of false starts I was finally able to grab the latch that held the hood fast. I had him put a bit of pressure on the hood to release the tension. When I thought I had it, I could hear the spring, I had him release his hold and pull up on the hood. I came up to the second latch down and we were in. I used the coat hanger to make a temporary pulling device to use at the grill.

Car wont stay on you let go of the gas and it dies

Check the idle air control valve its right on the front of the throttle body it may be stuck closed and not allowing air to bypass the throttle plate to allow the engine to idle, do you have a check engine light on at all, there could be a number of sensors that could have a problem not allowing the engine to idle when the throttle plate is closed like the idle air control valve, throttle position sensor......

Replacedstarter-batterygood-justclicks

If you got a new starter and it just clicks, it may be the cables at the battery need to be cleaned or the ground hookup to the engine may also need to be cleaned. One thing you also may consider is not all "new" things you buy anymore are without fault. I got a starter for my Olds that was rebuilt and bad. Also clicked at times so I returned it.
