1993 toyota camry v6 car bucking in gear

Shawn, I would start by using a good injector cleaner thru the fuel system. Does it run smooth at all, like when cruising? You need to use the good stuff, the $1.00 a bottle junk won't help but it does sound as though you have a fuel issue, could be a bad injector itself on a car of that age.

you may have a broken motor mount-start the car,hold on the brake peddle and have another person watch the motor-shift it into drive then into reverse- do this several times and see if the motor moves around alot-i e twisting -Denny

Power Steering Fluid on Ground

First of all, you should not have any so called ATF fluid coming fron the power steering components.Many years ago, you could use this fluid instead of power steering fluid used these days, which contain special additives to keep the seals and valve lubricated without drying them out. If you have put ATF fluid in a vehicle dated after 1985, you have basically posioned the system and will always leak from somewhere unless you replace the entire system.

Change transmission oil

Hi Peter, If your Camry has an automatic transmission, for normal driving the auto fluid should be changed every 40,000km, there should be a drain plug on the transmission pan that takes a 10mm hex drive or 17mm socket to undo. You have two choices after driving the car onto ramps or jacking up and supporting on jack stands so you can safely get under the car. 1 - You can loosen and remove the transmission drain plug to let the auto fluid drain out into a container (careful not to lose the sealing washer) refit and tighten the drain plug and washer again. Remove the auto transmission fluid level dip stick, using a suitable funnel pour about 2.5 litres of suitable new auto trans fluid back into the transmission via the dipstick tube (I believe they take dexron 2 of 3 type fluid). Start the car and move it onto a level surface. With the engine running, handbrake on and brake pedal applied, shift the transmission from park through every gear selection slowly into 1st gear, then back to park. Leave engine running. Wipe the dip stick & insert it back into the dip stick tube fully, remove and check where the fluid level mark is on the end of the dipstick. If the fluid level indicates low or does not show at all, add 100ml of additional fluid and recheck the level till the fluid reaches the full mark on the dipstick. 2 - The second option is everything in the first option but includes replacement of the transmission filter and pan gasket. I would only do this if the car had travelled high km or the pan gasket was leaking. At the point where you've drained the old fluid into a container and refitted the drain plug and washer, remove all the transmission pan bolts and the transmission pan. If you have the time to let the fluid drain overnight prior to removing the pan it's a good idea because once the pan is removed, fluid will continue to drip from the transmission. You'll need to remove the old pan gasket, some may be stuck to the pan and or transmission, a razor blade type gasket scraper can be good for this but be careful not to scratch either surface when cleaning off the old gasket. Remove the bolts/nuts that hold the transmission filter onto the bottom of the transmission. Careful caus more fluid may drain out of the transmission or filter once removed. Fit the new filter and filter tube gasket & bolts/nuts, careful not to over tighten. Fit new pan gasket, pan and bolts. Continue with fluid filling procedure from option 1. I would suggest you only use option one and remember to double check the drain plug is tight. Also, remember to dispose of the old fluid correctly. Cheers

Engine code 28

Are you sure it is a code 28? I only ask because my book doesn't show a code 28 in regards to this problem. I show codes 25 and 26 that may relate to this problem. But before replacing o2 sensor, there are other probabilities for this code showing up. They would be: Injector or injector circuit, Coolant temp sensor or circuit, Air temp. sensor or circuit, Airflow meter, Cold start injector, ECM (Electronic Control Module- THE BRAIN) Or the o2 sensor of course. Plz save your money before purchasing o2 sensor and check possible related items first.You may find o2 sensor is not at fault. Hope this helps.

Thermostat location

You probably have the iron block 3VZ V6, on which the thermostat is located in the water pump housing, under the water inlet. All this is behind the timing belt cover, so think about what stuff can be wisely replaced, if all that has to be taken off.If the alloy block 1MZ V6, it is more conveniently located on the outside of the engine, in the water inlet where coolant comes from the bottom of the radiator up to the block.

try turning the key on the boot lock past the lock possition as my old mr2 t bar used to have a lock like this so you could dead lock your boot when the roof was left off.?.

its sad to say that you will do something difficult, remove your backseat and make an access to get you go inside, be carefull and dont forget to bring light, take a look on the linkage from the lock position if it is still there, pull it, f its not on the position see the linkage of trunk striker, turn in on the way that you can open your trunk
