How do I test my map sensor on my 1990 honda accord
the map sensor would probably throw a code if it were bad. they do sometimes get gunked up and dont read the right air volume. you might want to check the fuel rail and injectors to make sure they aren't going bad on you. also fuel pump and filter and fuel line, you could have a kink.
Defroster
Look for cabin filter, if there is any on a 1990 Accord... not sure... Or make sure you're not recycling air from inside but taking it from outside (option on the heather control). Or air conduit bloked. First three thing to look. Hope it help.
The sudden loss off water
your water pump might have broke I just had the same exact problem the pulley either broke or the blades on the inside
Oil around the spark plugs
Check to make sure the plugs are tight and torqued to manufacturer's specs. Also, your Valve cover gasket(s) may need replaced.
S flashing on the dash of a 1990 honda accord
On my 1990 Accord Lx I have the same problem. My floor pan has a hole in it some where and my carpet gets wet which gets my computer wet causeing the "S" light to flash and then when my tranny shifts it skips 2nd gear.
My honda accord acceleration goes up and down
So, there's a few things to do to fix this. There is the air boost valve, which is on the driver's side of the the intake plenum.. They get a hole in the internal diaphragm, which causes idle surging. Replace it or buy a block off plate from ebay and remove it and block it off. Second is your FITV (Fast Idle Thermal Valve), which is on the front of the same plenum with two vacuum hoses leading to it nearest the driver's side. You can remove the top of it and tighten the seal inside with a flat head carefully until it's fully seated, as that seal backing out causes idle surge. Third is your Electronic Air Control Valve, which is next to the FITV and has a black solenoid looking top. Remove that, pull the gasket off of it and soak it in parts cleaner to get all the gunk off of the screen and passages. Replace the gasket and reinstall. Also clean the throttle body with throttle body/carb cleaner and replace the gasket. After you do all 4 of these and make sure the new seals/gaskets are installed and everything is done right, bleed and feel your coolant system, then disconnect your battery for a few minutes to reset your computer. When you restart the car, let it idle without touching the throttle until the radiator fans come on, which will tell you that your computer is now reset (You have to do this to let the computer relearn the idle pattern.)Here's a link to show you what to do in case any of this confused you:
