Engine cranks but will not start

Sounds like a dead or weak battery, you tell us that is new, then maybe a problem with connections at battery or starter contacts. Check all connections and make sure there is no corrosion built up at battery terminals. Charge battery or try jumping. If even dont work, check starter, starter solenoid or ignition switch. You will have to pinpoint what the engine is missing...- Spark- Fuel- CompressionAll three of these are tested when the engine is being cranked over. There are two way of checking for fuel. Fuel pressure and fuel trigger. Both are very important and must be present for the engine to start. Fuel pressure is self explanatory. You just hook up the gage and see what the reading is. Fuel trigger is check with a noid light. The injector gets unplugged and the noid light gets plugged in to the injector clip. With the engine cranking over, this light must blink. This is the signal to the injectors from the computer. You can have all the fuel pressure in the world, but it wont matter if the injector is not pulsing gas into the cylinder like it should.Compression tester, spark tester, fuel pressure gage and noid light are all accessible at your local auto store. All three tests play a very important part in diagnosing a no start condition. Be extremely careful when doing these tests.Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

2003 Escalade 5.3 all of a sudden have to add a gal of water every 3or4 weeks.Has 60,000 miles and see no leaks

Have the system pressure tested. If there's a leak, it should show up under pressure. While they are doing it, have them run a test for exhaust gases in the coolant. Presence of hydrocarbons in the coolant means head gasket problem-possible cause of water loss. Just for peace of mind, and eliminate that possibility.Good luck.

My battery light comes on and goes off while im driving

The battery light is coming on due to either a defective Alternator voltage regulator Diode (built into the alternator) or to a wiring connector problem at the Alternator. When the charging system voltage drops below the battery voltage the battery warning light will come on, this is not a Battery problem as many think, it is a charging system issue as stated above, the main component of the charging system is the Alternator..

2003 differential whine/noise

The last time I had a hum coming out of the area of the differential it was an inside axle bearing going bad. In my case there were four bearings (one on each end of each axle). It was a Toyota. We changed one bearing after listening very carefully and guessed right. I don't know if Cadillac is built similar in this regard but I'm thinking it may be. It was a speed sensitive hum sound like you describe.

My service ride control message

The most common problem is the rear auto level shocks leaking and/or the pump is bad. What happens ids one or both of the shock leak air, and the pump runs overtime to keep the truck level, and burns up the pump. everything is expensive.
