Service Stability, ABS and Traction control light will come on if i go over a hill and stay on. i know it's all connected. can it be fixed? i read on internet on another blog that GMC told a clien

Having a qualified repair shop check it out would be your best bet . These light;s being on means DTC'S - dignostic trouble codes are stored . SERVICE STABILITY SYSTEM Refer to ABS Description and Operation in Antilock Brake Systems Vehicles with RPO JL4 are equipped with an EBC 430EV ABS/DRP/TCS/VSES module. This module provides the following vehicle performance enhancement systems. • Antilock Brake System (ABS) • Dynamic Rear Proportioning (DRP) • Traction Control System (TCS) • Vehicle Stability Enhancement System (VSES) The following components are involved in the operation of the above systems. • Electronic brake control module (EBCM) - The EBCM controls the system functions and detects failures. The EBCM contains the following components. - System relay - The system relay is internal to the EBCM. The system relay is energized when the ignition is ON. The system relay supplies battery positive voltage to the valve solenoids and to the ABS pump motor. This voltage is referred to as system voltage. - Solenoids - The solenoids are commanded ON and OFF by the EBCM to operate the appropriate valves in the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV). - Longitudinal Accelerometer - The EBCM uses the longitudinal accelerometer to determine the actual straight-line acceleration of the vehicle. • Brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) - The BPMV uses a 4-circuit configuration to control hydraulic pressure to each wheel independently. The BPMV contains the following components. - ABS pump motor and pump - Four isolation valves - Four dump valves - Two TC isolation valves - Two TC supply valves - A master cylinder pressure sensor - A front low-pressure accumulator - A rear low-pressure accumulator • Wheel speed sensors (WSS) - As the wheels spin, toothed rings interrupt magnetic fields in the wheel speed sensors. This causes each wheel speed sensor to generate an AC signal. The EBCM uses these AC signals to calculate the wheel speed. Any imperfections in the toothed ring, such as a missing or damaged tooth, can cause an inaccurate WSS signal. • Traction control switch - VSES and the engine torque reduction function of TCS are manually disabled or enabled by pressing the traction control switch. • Lateral accelerometer - The EBCM uses the lateral accelerometer to determine the sideways acceleration of the vehicle. The lateral accelerometer is packaged with the yaw rate sensor as a single component. • Master cylinder pressure sensor - The master cylinder pressure sensor is located within the BPMV. The master cylinder pressure sensor uses a 5-volt reference and generates an output signal proportionate to the hydraulic fluid pressure which is present in the front brake circuit at the master cylinder. • Yaw rate sensor - The EBCM uses the yaw rate sensor to determine the rate of rotation along the vehicle's vertical axis. The yaw rate sensor is packaged with the lateral accelerometer as a single component. • Steering wheel position sensor - The electronic brake control module (EBCM) receives several inputs from the steering wheel position sensor. 3 digital square wave signal inputs are wired directly to the EBCM harness connector, however, only signals A and B are used or monitored. The failure of the index pulse signal does not effect VSES function. The body control module (BCM), which receives an analog steering position sensor input, transmits steering position data on the serial data line. The EBCM monitors the serial data information as an added failsafe for the steering position sensor circuitry. Battery voltage is supplied to the digital portion of the steering wheel position sensor from the cruise control fuse. The analog portion of the steering wheel position sensor is supplied a 5-volt reference from the BCM. This circuit is also used for a lamp dimming function. • Precharge pump motor and pump - The precharge pump assembly is used to assist the ABS pump in rapidly building hydraulic pressure needed during certain TCS or VSES events Do you know what DTC'S are ? The ABS , traction control can set a bunch . On 2003 Cadillac Escalade The Oil pressure gauge is below the 0 area but moves farther down and movesup and down below 0

you can not have less than zero oil pressure so the indications are that there is a fault with the oil pressure sender or oil pressure sensor you should take the car to an accredited service center and have the oil pressure tested using a mechanical gauge to prove what oil pressure you have from there you have the faulty item replaced

I want to rebuild my transmission for a 2003

Automatic transmission rebuilding on newer cars is an astronomical undertaking. Tons of special tools. One minor mistake and you have to do it all over again. Buy a GM reman that's been tested on a stand and has a 3yr/50,000 mile warranty that is honored nationwide at any GM dealer. Just keep your paperwork.

The front seats for our 2003 Escalade will not move forward or backward and the heat control for the front seats will not work.

Does your Escalade have memory seats ? There are 2 options of power seat systems available in full size trucks. The 6 way driver and passenger power seats, and 8 way driver and passenger power seats with driver memory. For the driver memory seat operation refer to Memory Seats Description and Operation . Power seats without memory are completely controlled through the power seat switch. Battery voltage is supplied to the power seat switch through the power seat circuit breaker. While the seat adjuster switches are in an inactive state the switch contacts are closed to the power seat switch ground circuit. When a power seat switch is pressed to an active state the switch contact is closed to the battery voltage supply circuit. Each seat adjuster motor is controlled by the power seat switch through 2 motor control circuits. The seat adjuster motors are bidirectional and the direction of adjuster motor rotation is determined by which of the adjuster motor control circuits is switched to battery voltage while the other remains grounded.

Brake lights went out so I changed a blown fuse, now the brake lights wont shut off,so I replaced the brake switch at the pedal and still have the same issue, lights wont go off.

Which fuse did you replace ? The one in the under hood fuse box or one of the two in the I/P fuse box . Do the CHMSL - center high mount stop lamps work correctly ? Here is a description how they work . Stop Lamps The STOP LP 25 A fuse in the underhood fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to the normally open stop lamp switch. When the driver presses the brake pedal, the switch contacts close and battery positive voltage is supplied to both the STOP 15 A fuse and the CHMSL 10 A fuse in the I/P fuse block, and to the turn signal/hazard module. The turn signal/hazard module then supplies voltage to both of the trailer rear turn/stop lamp supply voltage circuits. The voltage from the CHMSL 10 A fuse is to the center high mounted stop lamp (CHMSL) and the trailer jumper harness. The voltage from the STOP 15 A fuse is to the stop lamps, throttle actuator control (TAC) module, and the cruise control. Does yours have trailer light hook up ? If so check trailer wiring connector for corrosion . Also check the turn signal / hazard module . Does

Why doesn't the heater blow hot air?

The heater core valve is not opening enough to let the hot water from the cooling system in. OR perhaps the heater core itself is clogged and not letting enough water through the remaining passageways. Problem is that replacing it can be a PIA since it is usually in the dash board. But ..................

What is the drive cycle for a 2003 escalade? That will tell the emmission computer that it is ready to test???

General Motors Driving Cycle A complete driving cycle should perform diagnostics on all systems. A complete driving cycle can be done in under fifteen minutes. To perform an OBDII Driving cycle do the following:
  1. Cold Start. In order to be classified as a cold start the engine coolant temperature must be below 50°C (122°F) and within 6°C (11°F) of the ambient air temperature at startup. Do not leave the key on prior to the cold start or the heated oxygen sensor diagnostic may not run.
  2. Idle. The engine must be run for two and a half minutes with the air conditioner on and rear defroster on. The more electrical load you can apply the better. This will test the O2 heater, Passive Air, Purge "No Flow", Misfire and if closed loop is achieved, Fuel Trim.
  3. Accelerate. Turn off the air conditioner and all the other loads and apply half throttle until 88km/hr (55mph) is reached. During this time the Misfire, Fuel Trim, and Purge Flow diagnostics will be performed.
  4. Hold Steady Speed. Hold a steady speed of 88km/hr (55mph) for 3 minutes. During this time the O2 response, air Intrusive, EGR, Purge, Misfire, and Fuel Trim diagnostics will be performed.
  5. Decelerate. Let off the accelerator pedal. Do not shift, touch the brake or clutch. It is important to let the vehicle coast along gradually slowing down to 32km/hr (20 mph). During this time the EGR, Purge and Fuel Trim diagnostics will be performed.
  6. Accelerate. Accelerate at 3/4 throttle until 88-96 km/hr (55-60mph). This will perform the same diagnostics as in step 3.
  7. Hold Steady Speed. Hold a steady speed of 88km/hr (55mph) for five minutes. During this time, in addition to the diagnostics performed in step 4, the catalyst monitor diagnostics will be performed. If the catalyst is marginal or the battery has been disconnected, it may take 5 complete driving cycles to determine the state of the catalyst.
  8. Decelerate. This will perform the same diagnostics as in step 5. Again, don\'t press the clutch or brakes or shift gears.
