1999lxi shifter light stop working transmission stop shifting

The following are the general instructions on the start of diagnosing any electronically controlled engine or transmission problem.

The engine and the automatic transmission (transmission control is only for automatics, engine is still computer controlled no matter the transmission type) in this vehicle are computer controlled and in most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer replaced (known as the PCM), which is very rarely the problem. Other basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical problems with the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage on the engine. The transmission can have mechanical issues as well such as no gear engagement at all or a failed pump or other pressure related problems. Also engine mechanical problems ca cause many drive-ability related problem such as rough idle and other symptoms

My cars check engine light came on and got it checked at a parts store and the machine read p1496. How do I fix this and how much?

best option is to get it to a shop that can run a scan, any one of the sensors can be causing a short that affects the 5 volt system and finding which one it is can be tricky.can't say if it will be expensive or not, chryslers can be a nightmare.

Cant find the drain plug on the oil pan for my 1999 chrysler concorde lxi

The oil drain plug is located on the side of the oil pan, passenger side. It does not look like a typical drain plug, as it's one of those quick drain type. It is meant to be hand loosened and tightened. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN or you are in for a world of hurt. Just firmly finger tight

Gas gauge bounce

usually this is caused by gas moving around in gas tank and causing float to move around which is what controls the gauge reading. Some have a cove around them to prevent this. Alot of times when someone has the fuel pump replaced they have this problem because float was either bent or not placed in tank properly. hope this helps

1999 chrysler concorde my car wont shift out of second gear. Check Engine light is on now. dont know what to do, please someone help!

You need to take it to an auto parts store and have the computer scanned for trouble codes. The codes will point you in the direction of the problem, but not tell you which parts have failed.Odds are you will need a shop for repairs, but get the codes first.

Where is the brake light grounded 1999 concorde

the ground is either at the fuss box or it is grounded to the body, more then likely the brake arm itself is steel and therefore will be its own ground to the body.

Without A/C system theory & some training,I would say no. Leave it to a mechanic withthe correct equipmentYou can not just add very well with those wal marta/c kitsYou have no way of knowing how much to add, withouta manifold gauge set attached to vehicleIf you need to add, you have a leak that needs to berepaired & your poluting the atmosphere until the repairis completed

I just changed water pump and timing slides on my 99 concorde and now i have no spark

Please check that during the process of replacement you could have snapped a wire or connector. It is best to check on the related area with a good lighting as there is a possibility that the power to the ignition unit has snapped. Also check if the fuse has blown on the IGN section.
