faulty ign switch or starter relay

I need more details. Is the car engine " cranking' over at all, very slowly ect.
Do you hear any sounds when you turn ignition to start ?
Are the lights coming on in the dash when you turn on ignition ?
Do your headlights come on ?

Sounds like timing belt

No idea to be honest ,my sunday car which is a jaguar has all this sort of stuiff but i never use it in case it goes wrong,well here in spain we dont get the weather to use them and the price of petrol i can ony use it on a sunday ---occasionaly

It may be the ALDL fuse in the underhood fuse block, so check that. If OK, it may be the trunk release relay in the fuse block under the rear seat - also check that. If those are OK, the valet switch in the glove box may have failed in the open position. Remove the glove box and disconnect the wire connector from the switch; then jumper the two wires together. If that fixes the problem, replace the switch.

Look for a switch in the glovebox.

There are many many causes for this, and troubleshooting depends on under what circumstances this occurs. However, one thought comes to mind - if the vehicle is acting as though the traction control is engaged, make sure to try turning it off.

Usually you just "Squeeze-in" on the plastic dome sides to remove the cover, and then you will see the buld - some are push-in-twist 1/4 right and pull out, others may pull striaght out.

You'll have to use a spring compressor to pull the spring down far enough to give room to do this because the cup washer goes on before the pin goes into the hole.

The Northstar V8 VIN Code 9 or Y is a 4.6L engine. The cylinders are arranged in 2 banks of 4 with a 90 degrees included angle. The left (front) bank of cylinders are number 2-4-6-8 and the right (rear) bank cylinders are 1-3-5-7. Engine firing order is 1-2-7-3-4-5-6-8.

If the problem is the solenoid not releasing the door, you might try to access it from within the trunk.

If it's a "squealing" sound - check the power steering fluid. If it's more of a grinding sound - then the wheel bearings were not properly "packed" with grease. Note - the grease needs to forced into the bearings by hand while rotating the bearings. I had a this problem myself when a "mechanic" just smeared some grease around the bearings.

its usually pretty straight forward. you need the garage clicker, and usually you need to hold down the receiver button in your car then press the garage door clicker and there should be an indication that it was stored. if this still doesnt help call caddy dealer im sure they can walk you through it over the phone. So you have the car diagnosed for that issue A shop will look up the test procedure in their data base,check for codes & do what is required to find the fault

the adjustment of the timing chain is hydraulic and self adjust to maintain correct chain tension. IF the mileage indicates that the chain may need replacing then these adjusters have to be compressed and pinned before chain removal . Check that any noise is not coming from valve rocker gear which wears out before most chains
