1978 monte carlo would not

Sounds like vapor lock in the gas tank. I would try replacing the gas cap before doing anything else.

Sometimes the only solution is the easiest and last thing you try.

I can't find my fuse box on my 82 Monte carol

The fuse box will be hiding under the dash, mounted on the firewall behind the parking brake pedal. Bring a flashlight and knee pads. The writing is hard to read without extra light and you either have to hang upside down on the seat or kneel on the ground to see it. Hope this helps.

1983 monte carlo 305cid when

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. You need to check your ignition fuse in your fuse box. If the fuse is good, make sure the terminals ends on your battery wires are not loose. Make sure they are clean. If your battery connection is good and the battery as well, try changing the starter or starter solenoid. Once you find it, try hitting it a few times to see if it will start. Since the battery connection and battery is good at this point, change the starter. Make sure all the wires to the starter are connected. When working on the starter, make sure you take the battery terminals off.

Starter wont connect with flex plate on big block

You'll need a starter from a 1993 C2500 Suburban which came with a 454. Assuming you're running a TH400 this should solve your issues.

Wiring up startrer for 1978 chevy montecarlo

The "+" positive battery cable and all other wires with large eyelet connectors connect to the upper large terminal on the starter solenoid, and the wire with the small eyelet connector (usually a purple wire) will connect to the small "S" terminal on the starter solenoid, and if there is a small "R" or "I" terminal on the starter solenoid it will not be used for your vehicle and it is only for older vehicles with breaker point ignition systems. Here is a diagram to help assist you and let me know if you require any further assistance.

Need to replace window motor on 1983 monte carlo.

It is best to get the whole power window regulator assembly instead of only replacing motor. But if only motor has to be replaced then it is also possible. To remove the motor the regulator has to be removed then motor has to be removed from regulator assembly.
Unbolt existing window regulator assembly and slide guides from aluminum window track (you will have to UN-crimp one end of track). But in most cases both has to be replaced for exact window working.
To see the window regulator together click this link:--This picture is just for the reference. It may or may not match your cars window motor and regulator. But both has to be removed, this makes the procedure simple.----- http://www.paulstravelpictures.com/GM-Power-Window-Motor-Regulator-Replacement-Guide/GM-Window-Motor-Regulator-Replacement-028.JPG ----------- The motor is held either with screws or hex head bolts. Remove all the mounting screws/bolts and the motor is free. Lift it through the door frame and remove it from the car.
----------

Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation

Drives good in morning but

Try running it without the fuel tank cap. If that fixes it get a Vented fuel cap. Other things to check are the fuel filters both in the engine bay and also the guaze filter which is on the inlet inside the fuel tank

I do not know how to put the wires on to a starter

The starter will connect like so;

Be sure that the "-" negative battery cable is dis-connected from the battery before you begin.

The "+" positive battery cable and all of the other wires with the large eyelet connectors will connect together at the large upper main or "BAT" terminal on the starter solenoid.

The "S" terminal on the starter solenoid is for the field wire from the ignition switch, and it will usually be a purple colored wire, however the wire could also be pink or brown and it will have the smaller eyelet connector.

The "I" terminal if the starter solenoid even has one will only be used if the vehicle is an early year and the distributor has a breaker point ignition, and it is not used for electronic distributors.

Here is a diagram to help assist you, and let me know if you require any further assistance.

What manual transmission will fit onto a 70s

There are many that fit those...You could find a Muncie M21, M22 or even a really heavy duty version of the Borg Warner cast iron"rock crusher" transmissions (think they were sometimes used on the original "real" Z28 camaro with the 302 engines). There are tons of other units which were modified to fit as well. All those units used to be commonplace but you will need to search a bit to find one now..
Good luck
