I have a co-worker friend who has a 2005 Chevy Colorado pickup truck. She is experiencing an intermittent problem with starting the pickup. On some mornings, she says the engine will just turn over and over, but won't ever fire and start. Another mechanic friend thought it might be one of the relays, and so she changed it out, but still is having problems sometimes. It seems there is no rhyme or reason to the engine not starting, or firing. Could this be a bad starter problem, and perhaps have nothing to do with the relays or fuses? This is really annoying to her... she is a single mom and does not have a lot of time (or money) to be wasting on trying to track down the root of the problem. Just trying to narrow it down for her...

I've had this problem for about a year now. When this happens, turn key to acc position and leave it for 10 minutes until the pass-lock light either stops blinking or goes out. Then turn off key and restart your truck. I have seen somewhere that if you do this 3 times consecutively, it will re-program the "brain" but I have not tried this yet. Good luck!

2005 chevy colorado ran diagnostics in a shop results were as follow random misfire on cylinder 2 and 3. I replaced coil packs on the cylinders. Motor still runs rough and gets bad gas mileage. I think it maybe the throttle position sensor or the pressure regulator valve.
Sounds like it needs spark plugs and wires, and a fuel system treatment.

I have an 05 chevy colorado 3.5 5cyl. I noticed a vacuum leak on the hose that goes from the valve cover to the intake manifold.Problem is that in order to fix the leak, the black plastic cover over the intake manifold needs to be removed or at least loosened.Any idea how this cover can be removed?
mine is doing the same, it's your pcv receptor on the manifold. that hard plastic cover is actually part of the intake itself, if it "came off" it would cut your intake in half. that seem seals the two halfs together. you gotta pull the whole intake off and replace it... or jimmy rig it.

chevy spark engine immobiliser bypass. Has a keychip. Engine turns but no start.
Replaced Fanbelt. No loose connections.
check for codes. one needs to diagnose as per manufacturers procedures. There is no other way if all your keys don't work

My 2004 Chevy Colorado starts then stalls after a few seconds with a reduced power code error. It will usually restart and be find the rest of the day. Sometimes it takes a few starts to keep it running. What does this code mean and what is the fix?
I had the same problem, and the solution was cleaning the throttle body, it does need to be completely removed to be cleaned thoroughly. I just used some brake cleaner on a rag to clean off all the carbon deposits. A friend of mine who is a dealer tech had only seen this trouble code once, and this was the solution. So far, my light has not come back on and the truck is running alot better at idle.

reset check engine light?
disconnect the positive terminal to the battery for a few minutes and this should clear any codes stored such as the check engine light .if the code persists i would say many parts stores will do a test for free and determine your cause ..

Power door locks and driver side power window not working. Keyless remote will not open doors although when pressed, the interior lights come on so I don't believe it is an issue with the fob battery. Other power windows work, just not the driver side. Remote mirror control on the door handle works. Any suggestions appreciated.
The solution to this issue was recently discovered during our most recent trip to the shop. We told them not to leave the window down when they changed the battery... BUT DID THEY LISTEN...NOOOO.
So quite by accident I was finally able to correct and then test fail the system and test and fix again...
Here you go.;
1. disconnect the battery and connect both the positive and negative cables together(after disconnected))
2. disconnect the window and lock controller in the driver's side door.
3. Leave cables connected for at least 5 minutes
4. Re-connect door window controller and locks wiring harness
5. Place the key in the ignition and turn to the run position
6. Connect Battery starting with the negative cable(ensuring not to connect then disconnect, (one swift motion)
7. open drivers side door and turn key to the off position(do not remove)
8. You should hear a series of dings
9 Once dings are heard remove the key from the ignition and you should hear the door lock solenoids activate..
10. Congrats.. Your done and the windows and locks work.

what does reduced power mean on a 2005 chevy colorado
why does the reduced power light come on , then the truck stalls. If you pull over and shut down the engine and wait a 30 secounds the truck will restart and run fine until the next time you start the truck. The truck has 48k miles
