All belts are easy to work out how to put back on, never needed a diagram in my life, 1. Did you take the belt off? 2. If so and you don't remember how to put it back your and idiot for not drawing a diagram for yourself first. 3. Just go to workshop and get them to put it on. Every person that pops up a bonnet thinks they are mechanic. These are the people don't have clue what they are doing brake and destroys things then come and disturb me while i'm working to ask me how to fix it. These **** are on drugs why the **** would I tell them how to do it something when doing that is my bread and butter. Your ABS systems use a combination of electronic and hydraulic systems to modulate the brakes individually to prevent them from locking up. Antilock systems consist of wheel speed sensors, a hydraulic control unit (HCU), and an electronic control unit (ECU). Because of how complex the system is your computer does a self-test. If the check is successful, the ANTILOCK and BRAKE lights will go out within a few seconds. If one or more of the component of the ABS system fails to pass one or both lights will remain lit, the system will shut down and set a code. The code itself does not tell exactly what component is defective - it only indicates where to look, or what parameter is out of normal range. You or a technician will have to perform further testing to pinpoint cause and the proper repair. Even if you reset the light, if the underlying problem is not addressed it will come back on.

You will probably need to replace the resistor behind the dash. Usually the first symptom is the fan will only blow on high but not on the lower speeds. If that is the case, then the resistor ( cheap fix) is the culprit.

If you just lost it all of a sudden, you should check for a bad fuse and will probably find other things that don't work too. Replace the fuse and watch to see that it doesn't go out again - which if it does, you have a short somewhere that needs to be fixed.

if this is the 1.6 version then at this year its no doubt worn out ,well known for wearing out and burning oil .

Take off the upper timing cover and disconnect the battery now put a socket on the crankshaft but and rotate engine in direction of travel . there's a mark on the crankshaft pulley and marks on the camshaft sprockets that will be at the top when you are at TDC. That's the basics. Remove spark plugs to ease rotating the crankshaft. Hope that helps

So which is it a 318 or a 328i? One has a 1.9L 4cyl motor the other has a 6cyl 2.8L motor.

now it needs to be pressure tested for an internal or external coolant leak. If the water level keeps dropping in an engine the coolant temp sensor will never tell the computer when to turn the fan on. was the air ever purged out of the cooling system? Because, the temp sensor will never get a reading if coolant levels are low and will never tell the computer when to engage the fan. Does the A\C work? Does the fan come on for the A\C?

The filter is located in the washer bottle itself. Remove the pump(pull out) from the water bottle and the filter is the black seal the pumps fits into. Pull this out and rinse.
