88 Jeep Cherokee, left turn signals don't work.

Quite a puzzle you have that seems impossible, though such things weren't unusual in the old days of bimetal flasher units. The modern electronic flasher relay is designed to flash at a speed dependent on the amount of current drawn by the circuit so if a bulb goes out the speed doubles or thereabouts, giving the driver an indication something is wrong. Broadly speaking the flasher unit will operate as it is designed within a current range so if there is too much current flowing or not enough it probably won't work at all. The turn signal switch is usually a very reliable thing and as the left hand lamps light it is fair to assume it is working ok. If the switch is accessible it would be simple to measure the current being consumed by the circuit, which would be nearly 4 amps with the engine running at a fast idle. If it isn't then I suggest you revisit the lamp grounds and other connections. My instinct is to suspect the hazard warning switch. It is often an unnecessarily complex switch and wiring arrangement and often responsible for turn signal malfunctions. Mostly operating the switch rapidly for a few minutes puts matters right, though if it doesn't I suggest you check the multiway connector behind the switch.

????.. Do you mean it will turn over but NOT crank and run? Do you have at least a 1/4 tank of gas..?? When/how did this start... all of a sudden,, started doing it occasionally?.. Have you had anyone (mechanic) look at it yet? Megan, there is not a way to diagnose your problem without A LOT more information. 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport heating & a/c problem.

If your saying the blower runs intermittently, I'd start testing at the blower motor when problem is ongoing, if good voltage and ground with no blower action, suspect the blower motor. Did you use a test light to check voltage at fuses, as you can see, one fuse goes hot with the key on, the other fuse is hot all the time. The top wire in diagram for blower motor is voltage, the bottom wire is ground. Any motor that uses brushes and the brushes are worn badly, the motor may run intermittently. blower motor-oj0xa20ymx22hml3q4c1tsye-3-0.jpg

My 1998 Cherokee with 4.0 will run but cannot get cam/ crank sync.

The code suggests a timing issue, your timing belt could be stretched, or jumped, it's a bit involved to check it out, but there is a line on each timing gear to help you get them lined up again. If there is excessive belt slop, your valves will be opening a bit too late and possibly closing too long, and your spark timing would be retarded. It would be worthwhile to check your coil as well, you should have a beautiful blue spark coming out of it, if it's yellow, replace it.

My jeep runs fine one minute then wont take fuel all of a sudden.

Possible low fuel pressure. Should be 31-35 depending on which engine you have. Check to see what you have.

.1989 Jeep Cherokee rough running problems.

if the distribuitor was not new or fully reconditined then it is possible that it is still at fault have the ignition timing checked witha timing light to ensure that it is correct ( most operate at the 10-12 degrees btdc at idle speed of 850 rpms with the timing light operating , if the light flashes all over the place , that indicates a distributor shaft that is bent , worn or has worn bushes as the light has to flash consistantly on the one spot to be a good distributor doesn't say much for the mechanic not to try to fix a problem that you have paid for but relates to his workmanship

I have a 1997 Jeep Cherokee, stuck in 2nd...

all answers USA on USA cars, only. (exports are diffr) so if you didnt scan it when it fails, how would you ever find the truth? (if no errors. then it can be pure mechanical failure) the car has TCM a tranny brain. its covered in the SM, read that chapter yet. on newer cars if the Tranny overheats or engine both can go to LIMPHOME< but your car is not even close to new, is it? Jeep calls that LIMP-in. my guess (sux) is its the 4.0L engine with matching AW4 box Aisin-Warner it wise to know whats there first. before trying to understand it a FACT ! so did you google search AW4 boxes. , i bet not. but they are unique. as all different boxes are. is the CEL lamp glowing running, Check engine lamp PDC fuse 16 ok (4L,aw4) TCM power, must be good at all times. is the throttle valve cable to transmission stuck out? if it does, the TCM and trans will either go nuts, or shift way late. http://etereman.com/blog/fiat-transmission/the-popular-aw4-automatic-transmission-and-common-problems-associated-with-it the TCM shifts using solenoids, we check that the signals to said solenoid actually do go to the correct voltage levels in to 3rd. (you said stuck in 2nd) if that is ok, then the TCM did it job and the problem is INSIDE the box. end story, we use remote test meters to monitor wires driving. 169-rcbeiham3jnfwiqo4psfawtk-1-0.jpg chapter 21 and 8w are free to read here any time you wish posted over 300 times the Jeep Bible (SM) http://www.morris4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service click XJ

Sounds like your Freon gas pressure is low. You may need to recharge it. Very simple to fix and should check that before spending a lot of money.
