P27** codes are all to do with the gear box. Probably a broken wire or a Body Control Module issue.

That depends entirely upon the type of soil or the substrate you are measuring through and as such, there is no answer for all situations. The best method is to use trial and error for a happy medium.

But is is also possible the motor has burned out. Remove the case, get out your digital multimeter and test everything from where the power enters. There really isn't much to them and there are some spares available.

You would have to strip it down, remove the cog from the end of the cutters and turn the shaft backwards to spit the metal out.
