Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Take the board out and use your heat gun to heat the board. Look for any loose connections and resolder if needed. I see why you when with inverter replacement. It sounds like a board issue.

My WD-65C9 is doing the same thing. I got the update and it did not work. Only make sense, why would an upgadre fix a problem, it would give you more features or fix color problem that have always been there, but to fix a lockup. I think it is the mainboard from what I have read on the net.

this model has a self check, when green light comes on and then goes off. Push and hold both the Menu and Input buttons on the front of the set for at least 5 seconds and release both.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks 2 blinks, a pause and then repeat it several times.

Let me know what error code you find and I will tell you what it means.

Hello, one of the fans are bad or just clogged up, but only vacuum them off, NEVER blow them out, you'll wind up with dust bunnies in your optics causing blurry spots on your screen. Thanks Techman 57

Check in set menu and a box menu for the following:Volume is not turned down or muted (both set and a box if used)Speakers in the set are not switched to OFF.If set has external hookup for speakers that is not selected (internal/external switch)Lastly if set works with a DVD etc it has to be a setting either in the set or a cable or sat box or even a receiver if used causing this)

all PC and TV and projectors all those have fans. for sure thing that run faster, than say notepad and yours does fan all fans suck in piles of lint learn to clean it or have shop do it. if ignored the fan jams up with lint, and stalls or makes noise (bad) and stalls. all things with a fan does that. and causes overheating damage that wrecks all elecronics with fans. it needs service do get serviced or rear the service manual or learn to clean it your self. that was 3 answer, YOU CALL

No you don't, you need a remote that is made for the television you have, not a universal. Nobody buys those any more. Your TV is stopped working and it would be more cheaper to purchase a new TV than to try and repair the TV that is not working anymore.It could be the power supply inside of the TV is not working.

Maybe need new batt for remote ..try controls on set. Tv cud b worn out ...try unpluggnset for aspell n see if it reboots after a rest . Fixn it cudcost the same as new..n older tvs can hav manythings worn

try using buttons go to picture settings and turn off double screen

you can google Mitsubishi wd60638 remote they are available for $10.00 on line

try power settings see if program to go off could be going into timer mode if not bad power board

Hi Raymond....make sure the mute isn't on and internal speakers are enabled, if that checks out look at main board issues, a new board will correct your issue
