First, make sure the fan is unplugged. Second, remove the front fan guard. Then to remove the blade you have to loosen the dome like nut nut at the center of the fan. This is a left handed thread so you will need to turn it the opposite direction (clockwise) of a regular nut in order to loosen it.

I MAD MINE USING SOMETHING FROM ace hardware THAT COST 2.50 Small suction cups with the hook [CDBL-7500S11] PART NUMBER 7500 .CAN BE MODIFIED INTO MAKING YOUR OWN GASKET. IT WORKED FOR ME ..REMOVE HOOK FROM SMALL SUCTION CUP. cut off nib with sharp pair of scissors. THEN DRILL HOLE THROUGH CENTER OF CUP WITH 7/64 DRILL BIT. re insert plunger part of cap through cap with spring and re- attach suction cup instead of gasket. MINE WORKS FINE ON A HOLMES 3700
