Samson sound system in a church has a continuous hum. Speakers are not routed around fluorescent lights or power lines.

You have a short. This is either from a bad cable or a faulty price of gear.

to find the problem do you want to isolate pieces of the system. Turn on just your speakers (if they're powered) or amps (if the speakers are not powered). With the mixer off, if you were getting a pause the short exists after the mixer. No buzz? Great! Turn the amps or speakers off to prevent popping. Turn on the mixer, and then turn on the speakers or amps. If you have a bus now with all channels on the mixer down it is likely your mixer. If there is no buzz, Bring the channels up one at a time. Once you find the buzz, turn the channel back down and plug unknown working microphone and cable into its channel. If the Mike buzzes when you bring the channel up it's the channel on the mixer. If it does not then the issue exists before the mixer. This is most likely and also the least expensive to resolve. Check the snake if you have one and all cables in line in a similar fashion. Most likely a snake channel has failed, you have a bad cable plugged in the snake Or you have a bad DI box or mic plugged in.

Happy hunting

No mist!

unfortunately on a cool mist unit the mist shouldn't show up. on most units that's what it does. the warm mist units show the mist.. the best way to tell is if you put your hand over the spout that the mist is suppose to come out of for about 2 minutes and you pull it away and it feel clammy then it's working. if your hand is still dry please let me know and i'll see what else i can do for you.

Holmes HM4600HD humidifier tank

Mine dried out too. I could not find where to get the rubber valve seal for the tanks. Holmes does not list the part and when I called the rep told me they didid not stock the part. I solved my problem by purchasing thin rubber washers from Lowe's. They are 3/16 X 1 1/4 X 1/16 thick. The 3/16 hole in the center "snaps" on over the end of the plastic plunger just like the original. I had to trim the outside diameter with scissors to about 1" or using the old ones as a guide. Cost me $0.67

How do I change the filter, (Holmes hm7204

REPLACING THE FILTERS
Through normal use, waterborne minerals and sediment
become trapped in the wick filters. The harder your
water, the greater the amount of minerals in the water,
and the more often you will be able to monitor the life of
your filters in your humidifier.
You will be able to monitor the life of the filters in your
humidifier by checking the FilterCheck® Indicator. After
60 minutes of use, FilterCheck® Indicator will move and
indicate your filters condition. New filters will register in
the section reading Good filter. After frequent use of your
humidifier, the FilterCheck® Indicator will let you know
when the filters need to be changed, see Figure 2.
When the needle is in the CHANGE section, this means the
proper amount of moisture is not getting into your air due
to the excessive minerals and sediment that have become
trapped on your filters. At this point, you should replace your
filters. It is important to change your filters as
indicated to obtain stated performance level.
To replace the filter, follow the steps below:
1. Turn the unit off and disconnect from the electrical
outlet.
2. Remove the tank and main housing to access the base.
3. Remove the wick holder from the base of the humidifier.
4. Remove each individual wick and discard. Do not
remove rivet, replacement wicks come equipped with
rivets for easy replacement.
5. Follow the weekly cleaning instructions.
6. Insert new filters into each section of the wick holder
making sure the rivet attaches to the wick holder
securely.
7. Do not use wicks without rivets as this will not
produce the units intended output.
8. Replace the wick holder into the base and replace
main housing and then tank.
9. Repeat Operating Instructions.
It will take about 30 minutes for the humidifier to reach
maximum output.
Cheers!
