After 8 years, it may need service and gassing up, but you may also have drier air than you think. Whether is works in AC Mode is the key.

The hose is supposed to be in the tank. Someone emptied the tank and forgot to put the hose back.

Some dehumidifiers have provisions for connection of an ordinary garden hose to drain into a tub, a standpipe, or a sump pit.

all this info is in the manual. Either you threw it away or are a person who does not like to read.

Usually happens when the float valve is stuck in the down or up position try wiggling the handle to release or if the collection bucket is not sitting perfectly on the safety switch has to be down square I have the delonghi dem10 model always empty and unplug before checking

Are you worried as to why there is no Water in the Water Tank/Bucket at all? Well, a few operational basics must be understood by you please. For the unit to remove moisture from the air and draw water into the bucket/tank, the set relative humidity (%RH) must be below the current or ambient room relative humidity. Attempt to lower or reduce the setting you have to a lower value and it should start collecting water in the tank. Hope this helps

It's basically an air conditioner so if the fan is running---the condenser not plugged up via rats nest---lint----the float switch working---if possible tip over switch working----the system maybe low on refrigerant

The normal operating temperature is above 65 F. Much below unless specially designed for low temperature they will freeze up. They have a frost detector and will defrost but it is very inefficient and not practical. My experience they eventually form a block of ice on the coils. They heat the room in the process so in a moderate area they can raise the temperature and provide needed circulation. In the past where the temperature is cool I have faced the output into a corner, raised it off the floor and once the unit got started the heat created from the unit kept the air warm enough to avoid freezing up the coils. ck your water pump and hoses , the light is telling you it has sensed a problem

id be inclined to think that for some reason the pump is taking too long to pump tank out (or it thinks it is ) this would cause the fault you describe and the safety control shuts pump off for fear of a problem

if your unit is old enough to "not" have a gfci on the plug that goes in wall then im not aware it has any fuse inside it that could go bad , instead these rely on the homes proper electrical ckts to provide fuse/breaker functions that keep a fire from resulting if appliance overloads , now as for reasons of overloads these are many ! can be anything from water in the wrong place to a damaged motor inside

Sounds like the plumbing is obstructed somewhere, try looking upstream as well as downstream of the pump. A very small piece of crud can cause a clot or embolism in the narrow channel. You might try blowing out the system with compressed air, but beware of getting showered with dehumidifier crud!
