Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay. The relay is a small usually black cube shaped electrical part plugged into the compressor or wired to it nearby. It may appear burnt or rattle when shaken if it's bad. The two connections should show continuity with an amp meter. If it's good then it's most likely the compressor causing the problem.
Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath near the compressor is running. If no check fan.

Are the condenser coils near there warm or room temp. should be warm

Is the evaporator fan in the freezer running. It blows cold air into the fridge side through a damper in the wall between the freezer and fridge. Make sure the damper is open.

Below the evaporator fan is the evaporator coils. Remove the back cover in the freezer to observe the frost pattern. Light frost everywhere(NORMAL) or a partial pattern of ice(LOW ON FREON) or nothing(LOW FREON OR COMPRESSOR PROBLEM).
If it's iced up really heavy you have an auto defrost problem. Melt the ice with a hairdryer and check the defrost system.

Kenmore side byside model# 363.9565482 does not cool/freeze after 3 day power outage .lights on & fan runs .tried unplug/replug & cleaning coils still not cooling .How do I fix?

First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it seems
to be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Check cold control (thats where you turn it colder)

Kenmore frig does not turn off

How are the door seals doing? How clean is the under side of the fridge (the coils and the ability for air to flow). How clean is the back side of the fridge (the coils and the ability for air to flow). How clean is the metal jacket in general?
If you drag the fridge outside to hose it down, let it rest for an hour or two before plugging it back in.

Accessing and cleaning coils on Kenmore Elite Side by Side

To reach the back coils you need to pull the fridge out and take off the cardboard type cover...
I often use an air compressor with high pressure air to blow out the coils..makes a mess but oh, well, sometimes you got to do what you got to do...

Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

Freezer & fridge not cooling

Your evaporater fan should only be running when your compressor runs. if the fan is bad then it would indeed make the frig not too cold because it is not blowing air over the coils to remove the heat ,so it may need to be replaced. Also check coils to see if they need a good cleaning with a vacuum cleaner. Hope this helps

Freezer & Fridge working, center pillion hot

Check the condenser fan from the back. It's underneath near the compressor. It should run when the compressor runs.
To see if your defrost is not working take the back off the inside of the freezer to see if there is ice buildup blocking the air flow. A light frosting on the enitire coil is normal

We had a power outage and top half will not work

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp ..
If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.
