'blank sceen appear on my lenovo ideapad S10 but lenovo and the windows manage to appear after tunning it on and blank afterward

  • Syllamo May 27, 2011

what windows OS is it? 7, Vista, XP?
if the Lenovo screen comes up, then screen is good and is a problem with windows booting.
Try pressing F8 while it boots and boot windows into safe mode - there you can run a chkdsk /f from a command prompt and then reboot.

Hi licah,
It seems that your computer is not booting into windows properly at all.
You mentioned you see Lenovo and windows appear then the screen goes Blank afterwards, you can try to Boot directly into the Hard Drive manually just to get everything working or I mean Booting up again but this is a small shot from what you are experiencing but is also worth the try.
turn your S10 machine OFF then turn it back ON and keep on tapping f12 on the keyboard you should see Boot menu on the list Select HDD then press enter this should boot into the Hard Drive, if it does not then you may need to send the system back to Lenovo for a possible reinstallation of windows or on most time we also have the Hard Drive replaced in many cases.
I hope that this Helps.
Have a nice day,
mvincentc

Why is Fn + F5 key function not working?

You probably have to download and install Lenovo Energy Management.

If you have Windows 7, you can download from this link: http://download.lenovo.com/UserFiles/Driver/en/Downloads%20and%20Drivers/S10-3/IN1EGC26WW5.exe

Use this link if you have Windows XP: http://download.lenovo.com/UserFiles/Driver/en/Downloads%20and%20Drivers/S10-3/XP/IN1EGC22WW1.exe

Save it to your harddisk and right click and run as an administrator to install.

Lenovo s10-3 battery

What do you mean by battery not found? There's no battery icon displayed? Try going to Lenovo's website and downloading the latest drivers and software for power management.

Lonovo ideapad tuns on but doesnt work

You turn on but it won't boot to your OS? or powers on (i.e LED power light comes on) but you get no display at all, not even Lenovo logo?

If it's not booting try booting from your windows CD/DVD and running a start up repair. This is a guide for Windows 7 but should be very similar process for Windows Vista.
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/ss/windows-7-startup-repair.htm

If you get no display at all (Not even a Lenovo splash screen) and just lights, try popping your battery out and power the system up on mains only. If this works, pop your battery back in, it should be begin to charge. You laptop should continue to work from now on. This is a problem that occurs from time to time on any laptop and is cleared this way.
If removing the battery doesn't work I would try removing/re-seating/swapping out RAM.

Let me know how it goes, I may be able to help further.

I have lenovo ideapad s10-2 it start normaly but it will remaining please wait can you help me

Hi,

I believe you're having problem with the Operating System on your computer. Unfortunately, Lenovo will not provide a product key for the Operating System since the an OEM version. What you can do is reinstall the Operating System using the One Key Recovery Sofware or the Recovery Disc that came with the computer. Follow these steps for you to be able to reinstall the Operating System using the One Key Recovery.

1. Turn off the computer.

2. Press the little button near the power button, it usually do have a drawing of an icon that looks like a horse shoe or a headset.

3. There will be a window that will appear which do have three option, One Key Antivirus, One Key Recovery and System Setup. Choose One key Recovery.

4. There will be another window that will appear which do have two option, Restore from initial backup and Restore from user backup,Choose Restore from initial back up

5. It will asked you if you want to continue, Just click on OK or YES.

6. Once done, Reboot the computer.

Hope this information will help. Thank you for using FixYa!
