Wifi activation
For your wi fi to work the first thing is that your computer has to see the wi fi network - If the network is not seen then maybe you have a problem with the circuitry responsible for seeing the network. That issue has to be resolved first. THEN, after it sees it, you have to give it the password to enter the network since most networks are password protected. Without the password you will simply pound salt.
I have a Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3 cannot open WiFi internet, please help. Thank you
If you have not done the following yet then please try:
1. Reload drivers for your wi-fi interface (updates can trash a driver with a bad driver so try reverting back to original and then load new driver if old driver fails
2. Of course the obvious is user error so check that your are using the correct encryption scheme for your router and the password is correct since not all OS will give you a warning that you have input the worng info and it will just sit there without a splash warning that the info is incorrect. (Know from experience with XP that erros are not always splashed to user)
3. The acid test is to take a standard Cat 5 or Cat 6 ethernet cable and direct connect to your router (if there are RJ44 ports for cables) and try bypassing the wireless function (this will tell you whether it is the MB, the NIC, or your WiFi router configuration.
If none of this is successful, I suggest that your MB NIC (network interface card - 'old school') is dead and no matter what you do it won't function so you have only two options: a.) add an external aftermarket WiFi device in a smartcard; b.) accept that the laptop will not be network capable and replace it or the MB
Hopefully, one of these corrective actions will help ort at least better define the problem. As a suggestion it is most helpful if you can provide more descriptions of your problem, what you have done, and the poutcome of that so thise things cab be de-prioritized in the troubleshooting.
Lenovo s10-3 battery
What do you mean by battery not found? There's no battery icon displayed? Try going to Lenovo's website and downloading the latest drivers and software for power management.
Cannot connect to wifi
You should have a function key and an "F" key that will enable and disable your wireless.
Having said that check your driver to make sure it is working correctly
start/ right click on my computer/properties/devise manager.look for any yellow question marks or red exclamation points? if not driver is working ok is the network you are trying to access secured? if so did you imput the correct key?
Password chek failed system halted
Did you buy this computer? Then you should know password. Did someone give it to you ? Then ask them for password. How can you forget password?
Lonovo ideapad tuns on but doesnt work
You turn on but it won't boot to your OS? or powers on (i.e LED power light comes on) but you get no display at all, not even Lenovo logo?
If it's not booting try booting from your windows CD/DVD and running a start up repair. This is a guide for Windows 7 but should be very similar process for Windows Vista.

If you get no display at all (Not even a Lenovo splash screen) and just lights, try popping your battery out and power the system up on mains only. If this works, pop your battery back in, it should be begin to charge. You laptop should continue to work from now on. This is a problem that occurs from time to time on any laptop and is cleared this way.
If removing the battery doesn't work I would try removing/re-seating/swapping out RAM.
Let me know how it goes, I may be able to help further.
I can t to conect
Hi elyflorin200,
I see that you have the s10-3 Netbook and that you wants to connect using Wifi.
- On your Netbook make sure that the wireless switch on the side is switched on first.
- On the lower right hand side you should see a wireless icon that looks like a signal bar indicating that your wireless is on and that it detects Networks in the area.
- Point your mouse cursor on the signal bar on the lower right it should say Networks are detected or connect to a network.
- If you do not see the signal bars then the wireless may still be OFF on your Netbook.
- Try and Press FN+F5 the same time you should see a windows that will pop up saying Networks or it should say Wireless device or the name of your of your wireless card, check if the wireless is enable or turned on under current status.
- If your S10-3 detects Networks click on you Routers name to be able to connect wireless it will prompt you for a security if in case your Router has a Network key or Security key you will need to type that in in order to get internet from he Router if ever you enter the incorrect Network/Security key i will give you an error.
- If ever you get connected it will prompt you if you want to save the Network and if you want to connect Automatically put a check on Connect automatically so that every time you turn you S10-3 ON it will detect the wireless signal in your home.
