You did not say whether the laptop boots up or is dead. Check the following:1. Defective Battery will cause laptops to not power up2. Defective AC power adapter3. Try vacuuming the open grills on the laptop to suck out any debris clogging the fanThese are about the only things you can check as a consumer without opening the device and troubleshooting at the board level. Hi Varsha, Make sure you have the Drivers and Software installed for the webcam. Go to the Lenovo site and grab the drivers from there, or if it's an external webcam, go to the manufactures site and get them from there.Hope this helps!Thanks!Gary

Just bought Lenovo S10 and so unlucky that window crashed. So have to restore my Lenovo S10 to factory settings. Can’t really find how ot restore to factory settings in Lenovo S10 from the User Manual. So check from google, after many many search, finally found the solution.
For Lenovo S10 to restore to factory settings follow the steps below:-

• Turn off your Lenovo. (i mean shut down and make sure it’s power off)
• Now press on the “One Key Recovery” key at the top of your Keyboard, your Lenovo S10 should boot up. Else hold down the “One Key Recovery” key until it boot up.
  
• Now you may choose “Restore to factory settings” from the screen and proceed for the restoration.
  ** the restoration will first check if your windows files has been corrupted, if yes, then it will restore it to the original state and no restore is required. else it will continue with the restoration

Black screen issue often caused by display problem. The easiest way to resolve this is by doing a power drain. Here are some steps that you can apply on how to perform a power drain.

1. Turn off the computer completely.
--> if system is currently on, please press the power button for about 5-10 seconds to be turned off completely.

2. Unplug the AC adapter from the power outlet.

3. Take out the battery from the system.

4. Now, please press and hold down the power button for about 15-20 seconds.

5. Plug the AC adapter and put back in the battery.

6. Turn on the system.

There should be a switch just above the keyboard to turn wireless/bluetooth on or off. Make sure this is turned on first. Once you have the bluetooth controller turned on, click on the start icon and open Control Panel. Find and open 'Devices and Printers'. Click 'Add a Device' and follow the instructions to pair your bluetooth device with your PC.

If you remember the date you bought the laptop you can do that. restore the laptop to an earlier date (when you bought it) and it will delete/uninstall all programs that you added to it after purchase. The data will however have to be deleted manually.
Better and faster would be to reinstall Windows from the CDs that came with it. Or from the smaller partition that the original OS resides in. In about half an hour you have your laptop back to the day you bought it.

try to press and hold Fn Esc,that will allow you to enable/disabled the webcam,you will see there a small camera icon,if theres a cross in the middle of it,that means its disabled, if nothing happens, go to consumersupport.lenovo.com,type your serial no and look for the camera driver,make sure to verify the designated operating system if it is a Windows Xp,Vista or 7,check also how many bits,if its a 32 or 64bit

Need a external CD ROM...
1. Download and burn Ophcrack (freeware).
2. Burn ISO file to a disk.
3. Attach external CD ROM to S10 computer
4. Load the disk with the ISO file in the external CD ROM
5. Turn the S10 on and tap F12 a few times on the Lenovo Screen.
6. Select Boot using CD/DVD ROM
7. Wait for the program to completely load until it shows you a picture with your password on it.

If this solution does not work,
1. Turn off your computer (no flashing lights)
2. Press the Lenovo Care Button (aka One Key Recovery, button with an upside down arrow on it)
3. Select System Recovery.
4. Recovery from factory default settings.

FN+ESC is the on/off switch for the camera/mic. Press both at the same time
