I have a 2003, KF60WE610 60inch TV. My TV started occasionally losing the picture. The TV will go from normal picture to color patterns yellow/orange, green/blue, black and white. Then I'll have a black screen. The sound is fine. The picture returns without doing anything. The lamp light does NOT blink. The lamp was replaced a year ago. The green power light is steady. What could be the issue?
Thanks. I was afraid it was the optical block. I just checked today and I don't have the lamp over heating issue, at least not yet.Thanks. I was afraid it was the optical block. I just checked today and I don't have the lamp over heating issue, at least not yet.

The tv have a colors wheel design into it tv.The tv is now having grinding noises or colors pattern mess up or tv flashes of Black&White within the color picture.Mean the tv colors wheel disc it is worn out and it is not spinning inside it motor axis anymore. If u are not mechanically incline, don't tries to change the colors wheel by ur self, will cost u more problems, than it worth trying to save some money by trying to do the job ur self.Hire a bonded tv Tech.to do the job.The tv part and the labors should cost u about $500.
I had the same problem. Unfortunately, it may not be fixable. The tiny pipes that carry the ink are REALLY small; about the thickness of a hair. As a result, they can clog. If you only occasionally print in color, the ink in the pipes dries out. You can't do the repair. I was told by the technician that I should print the test pattern occasionally, if I'm not printing in color often.
This is due to vertical section failure. Change the vertical supply rectifier diode and supply filters. Then check zener diode leakage in pumpup circuit section. Also check any electrolytic capacitors leakage in vertical section. If it is old model tv change vertical height, vertical lenearity presets also. I hope given details useful to you.
I need some answers here...
Do you have only one video source to test it?
Is this happening with an external source or with your tv tuner or both?
I need more info....
you are having a problem in your video circuit and your tunner section if the green is smooth also have the deflection ic checked.but this set needs to be taken to a qualified tech repairs could cost about $1oo.00 good luck.
It isn't clear if the picture just loses color or the screen goes blank. If you are just losing color (picture goes to B/W) there is a problem in the color circuit and from your description it could easily be a bad solder connection on the board which decodes the color portion of the picture. If you are capable with a soldering iron and know TV HV safety, unplug the set, and remove the circuit boards and inspect (with a high powered magnifier)and resolder all suspect looking connections on the boards. You could also resolder all the connections which is more work but assures that solder joints are not the problem. If your problem is not solved at this point you are probably going to need a technician to look at it as it could be just about anything and probably would be beyond your expertise. Good luck and be safe.
