If the plug is wet, it is likely fouled and the cylinder flooded. Dry off the plug and reinstall it. Open the choke and throttle so the carb throat is wide open and crank the engine over. This will evacuate excess fuel out of the cylinder faster then anything. It should fire at least once.
When you say it fires, are you checking for spark at the plugs ? In most cases you have to figure out if it is spark, fuel, or compression to proceed. A mechanic would also check the computer for trouble codes but you would need a scanner or code reader to do that.

You can have current reach the coil but if it is open or if there is an internal short it may also produce a weak or no spark at all. High voltage has to come out of there and it has to be distributed to the various plugs. You have more than one plug so check the distributor out also.
