My HP Photosmart C6380 all in One is now printing colour and black and white photos with a green/blue colour in dark/black areas of the photo replacing what should be black or gray. It never used to do this and it's not to do with the cartridges as they have all been replaced and are HP cartridges. This only appears to happen on photo paper which I have used before and has worked fine. I printed a black and white photo on normal paper yesterday and this did not occur? Thank you.

To see which color is having an issue, go to printer control panel and select "settings" > Tools> Print report> Print Quality report. When the page prints out, you will see which color is the problem. After you have figured that out, make sure the problem is not with the cartridge.
If you see lines or missing colors, clean the printhead by removing it from printer(open cover, lift gray latch on the right side of the cartridges, remove cartridges and the printhead will easily slip out by pulling up)
then soak the printhead in half inch deep amount of window cleaning solution. Preferably warm. Let soak at least 3 hours. Dry out the printhead and wipe rear conacts from moisture and dirt. Reinstall into printer and see the results.

SOURCE: Printing photos

its ok I solved it! I didn't realise that all the photo cartridge does is gloss over the colour picture produced by the colour cartridge. I simply had to replace the colour cartridge which had run out, so now its all working perfectly!!

SOURCE: how to load 5x7 photo paper into hp photosmart D7460 ??

Simply set the page layout option to select from printer. Place the cut & proper sized paper in the inlet tray, adjust the sliders so that they just rest lightly against the edge of the paper. Remember only one slider moves and the other one remains fixed to one edge. Click print preview. You might get a message saying paper orientation is not right...should I adjust the printer automatically, click yes and behold it will print in Portrait or landscape mode depending on the matter. If it warns that output does not fit on the media(paper) then select fit to page option.....sodeep

SOURCE: HP Photosmart C6380 says scan from computer?

This means you should open the HP software, whatever your version is called, and start the scan from your desktop instead of pushing buttons on the printer console.
Go to Start>All Programs>HP Solution Center.
See also articles here.
If you don't have the HP software installed, and you're using vista, see here.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

Why are my prints only printing the reds and blues in photos?

Please next time put the question in the correct category. I still will try to help you.
If your printer does not tell you any cartridge is empty, and it still does not use that colour it could be the nozzles of one cartridge are blocked. Check this by printing a test page, as told in the user manual. Sometimes called an alignment print.
Then check if all colours appear correct. Looks like yellow is not working correct.

Photo black ink runs out b4 black on HP Photosmart C6380 printer

The black ink cartridge is larger than the photo black cartridge and black is used in photos to make the darker colors. Black text takes much less ink per page.

Lines in photo

Hi

This could be either a leak from colour cartridge or could be because there is still some blue ink in the printer from the last colour item printed?

Photos come out much darker than the original

Disable the godawful "RLT photo fix" in the print settings. Set "show preview before printing" to see where the print will appear on the paper.
