Just replaced my optoma hd65 lamp with an original optoma lamp and the picture color is great but there is flashing/flickering of the colors on the screen periodically, sometimes more often. I reset the projector to factory settings but it is still flashing. Any advise as to what to do?

Try putting the bulb into normal (rather than eco) setting.
Check the bulb is seated correctly.
If this does not help you may have to contact your bulb supplier to see if they can swap bulb for you.

Optoma HD80 flashing blue lights

Sound like the original color wheel for Optoma HD80 is bad.

If the unit has been moved when hot.

If not, try un-plugging the unit for a few minutes and re-connect.

Hope this helps

Optoma PK301 lost a color

it is not correlated with bulb
1,the color starts to go out, it become the white and black, the color is disappear.
2,then,the projector running off after only a few minutes,
it is a general issue:the inductor need to be cleaned
Use a cotton swab moistened with alcohol to clean the inductor.
the inductor (Sensing element),is near to the Color Wheel.
the industor : is a black little element,as little as 3 sesame seeds

My HD 65 keeps flashing green.. I turned the high altitude on and it stopped.. But it's now starting again.. There is only 480 hrs used. What to do??????

From what I've read, flashing colors could mean dust on the color wheel. Try removing the lamp and blowing air on the color wheel. Also if using the red, blue, green cables check to make sure the red is in tight.

Colors flickering

Easiest and cheapest to just fix it yourself! The problem is with dust/debris accumulation on the color wheel. Very simple to fix. Remove the lamp and you can see the color wheel. You may be able to clean it from that hole using compressed air. If not, you will have to take the outer casing off. A film will build up on the color wheel in certain environments, smoking, dusty areas, placement next to ceiling fans. To remove the film build up, use a q-tip with denatured alcohol. start from the inner part of the color wheel and work the q-tip upward towards the outer part of the wheel. you may have to remove the cover plate to the color wheel to clean the other side( side facing the lens). Not a big deal and will bring your projector back to its original vivid colors. As for LCD projectors, they are only good for one lamp. You will never get the full use out of a second lamp as the lcd panels degrade fairly quickly. Usually the blue lcd panel is the first to go. A DLP projector can last you for years and many replacement bulbs. Replacing a color wheel is fairly easy. Replacing lcd panels, not going to happen as they have to be calibrated and are very expensive. P.S. If you are a smoker and you do it in the same area as your projector, you will get a tar build-up inside the projector. The tar will accumulate on EVERYTHING and eventually lead to overheating as well as color wheel issues. The reason I mention this is I just repaired a Optoma EP721 (very similar to the HD65) that had this issue.

Optoma hd65 projector new bulb wont turn on...cant reset timer!

I think it's a lamp driver issue from what I've seen others have gone through. I also read that if you go through the sequence of unplugging, plug back in, wait 20 seconds and try to turn on, multiple times, it will finally kick on and work. I just got mine to turn back on by doing this and waiting through the fan cycling without the light turning on. After the 4th sequence the light flickered. After the 7th sequence it finally turned on and is working. Now I can watch the Super Bowl and will look into replacing soon.

Blotchy colors on optoma hd80

i had, have the same problem i also replaced the bulb then shortly after the power went out no standby light or anything. From what i've read so far it seems like a power supply issue so i ordered two power supplys from optoma 1 for lamp 1 for the unit waiting on delivery from CA they were $ 99 each if this work i'll be one happy camper. Three years no problems it's a great machine with incredible picture using 106" screen
