We bought this refrigerator used, and it seems to work fine, in fact it is very cold and we have frozen milk sometimes. But main problem is water leaking from freezer into main compartment. I put a large container under to catch water and it fills up. There appears to have been a cover or something over the space at the back center, because there are hinges, broken. I can't find an item number anywhere inside and have not pulled it away from wall yet to check there. Any ideas or suggestions? Thank you

Re: water leaking into the refrigerator from the freezer.
You have to defrost the freezer part and drain tube in the freezer,a hair dryer works well,if after you defrost it and freezes again its your defrost timer, make sure its fully defrosted first before buying the defrost timer

this is a a frozen drain . kenmore has a drain heater kit the will correct the problem .. very common with top mount freezers .. .. hope this helps mmm feed back pls /
Most likely your defrost water drain is plugged. You will have to pull the panels off the freezer, to expose the evaporator. the defrost water drains by gravity thru a hole in the pan under the evaporator. Clear it of debris and or ice, check for any accumulated ice. reassemble. Remember to turn off power before attempting repair and be careful not to bend or puncture any refrigeration tubing
Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove panel back of freezer..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curatain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the Freezer is because the water has been leaking into the freezer instead of running into the drain hole...If you need any further assistance please feel free to comment again. good luck! the drain in the freezer is clog make sure the drain from the freezer
is clean all the way to the pan next to the compressor . you need to
open the back wall of your freezer for that ( the inside wall) clean
with buster (water pump)the drain is in the bottom middle of the freezer.
I had the same problem a while ago. I cleaned the filters in the back of the refrigerator and it stopped leaking. I guess you would want to clean the filters it might work for you as well. And also make sure the temperature in the fridge is right. Hope it works.. GOOD LUCK.
This is usually caused by a plugged freezer drain. The back wall (or floor) of the freezer may come out to access the drain. Clear out anything visible and run a stiff wire thru it. Test with a cup of water. Hope this helps!
you have a clogged defrost drain tube. removing back panel of freezer will give you acess to drain trough, melt away the ice with a hair dryer, youll find a drain hole under there somwhere, pouring boiling water down the drain will clear it pretty quickly( i use a steam machine purchased from the infomercials works awesome, after you clear it and all water drain down tube wrap a piece of solid copper wirearound the heater( black calrod heater right above the drain trough) and stick it in the whole maybe an inch or so. now everythime the heater comes on to defrost it will prevent the hole from freezing over
