My MP3 player works fine, but every time I connect my it to my computer, it says that it is corrupt or unreadable. All I would like to do is delete some songs, rename some and add some. Ive only recently found it again after being lost for about 6-12 months. After finding it, the battery case has come off and is lost, as is the box and manual. Will having no battery case be a problem?

The loss of the case shouldn't be a problem, you can use some duck tape to cover it up.
You could try the maker's website for the manual. They might have free PDF of it.
The player's format will be different to your computer, so it can't see the files. If you get hold of the manual it should tell you how to correct this problem.

When you connect it to the computer is it showing as a portable drive? IF so you should be able to browse it and delete them that way, or you could format it .

What is the make and model number of the mp3 player? Assuming you are using Windows, If you can view the disk in My Computer, right click on the drive, select properties, tools tab, in the error checking option select check now.

Hello, I'm having problems with my mp4 player

MP3 or MP4 player encounter "Drive inaccessible or corrupted and unreadable" are likely defective.
To be careful on it this mp4 player is memory damaged already.
I tell you, you can no longer use this one anymore because i have a lot of mp3 or mp4 with the same problems you have, i try to repair & open it and check the circuit, even the integrated circuit can no longer use.
I wanna say you a new one and don't wait this mp3 or mp4 player of yours are working back normally. Even I wanted to share to you about my knowledge on this but anybody would say "just buy a new one".
Hope this tip might help you my friend.
Good luck!

My zen stone mp3 player is corrupted and unreadable

Try to do a right click on the zen in My computer and seelct Format. This will wipeout everything that is there on the player and you'll need to copy stuff to it again. If you are unable to format the player then this could be a hardware failure.

Where does a deleted file go? any chance for recovery?

You are going to have to start again, first connect the unit to your computer copy anything you want to save piccys movies and stuff but not the corrupted music files, Format the drive, then goto http://www.nodevice.com/driver/_PVR-H140/get33981.html download the driver files and re-install to the PVR, then copy all your mp3 files back.........
