That's the internal spring that breaks in that switch. The switch will still work but it will not spring back to the center. You can get the part at www.camerasandparts.com or you can have them service it at the same time they replace the spring. Hopefully that will get you in the right direction, they're excellent if you need help with a Powershot since that is all they specialize in are the parts and repairs of these cameras. I wish you luck with the issue.

Has this camera encountered any water or moisture? Sounds like the Ribbon cable to the
option panel is either loose or has been compromised. It could have come loose after a
drop or hit, compromised cables are results of water damage or moisture damage.

The tv picture is stuck on zoom and we are loosing part of the picture. How do you turn the zoom off?

Howdy, this is usually controlled by the button marked ASPECT RATIO. pushing this several times will usually solve that issue.

My zoom 505 2 distortion pedal for my guitar will not function with batteries and the ac adapter slot is loose in the back, please help

I have had this same problem with mine, since the adapter jack is loose it's probably broken loose from the circuit board inside. I had to carefully dis-assemble and re-solder the adapter jack back to the circuit board. This is un-fortunately a weak point on some of Zoom's pedals, when you or if you get someone who is good at soldering to do it for you ask them to beef the solder joints up a little to help keep it from coming loose again. I re-did mine and I've never had another problem with it.

EF 24-70 lens droop...

The zoom creep is an easy fix for Canon. I really do not recommend trying to tighten it yourself, since that would void your warranty.
It is usually free to tighten the zoom ring.

Powershot A620 Zoom Lever

Remove your batteries and look inside the battery compartment. Notice that there should be three small phillips screws at the bottom of the compartment. Tighten up all of these screws.

Zoom problem

I have the same problem. I hoped it was down to the zoom button on the top of the camera. I dismantled it and eventually got to the button but couldn't find anything loose/damaged or needing cleaned.

Did you ever find a solution?

Olympus D-595 Zoom

I don't know anything about this camera. However on most modern cameras, the Shutter Button is usually just part of a switch. Nearly always there is a rubber Diaphragm below the button, which has an electrically conducting lower surface. When the Button is pressed that surface touches a small printed circuit board, or part of a circuit board, and a number of circuits are closed. It could be that the lower surface has become stuck to the Circuit board, or the rubber diaphragm has moved and is jammed down. It might be possible for you to open the case, and get to this switch. Any other switches or buttons near by, will also become loose, so remember which goes back where. If you don't want to take any chances I would advice you to find a local repairer, who should be able to fix this fault very quickly and fairly cheaply. Good luck
