Depending on your descriptions, there might be something wrong with your Olympus 230 digital camera or memory card (system error). In order to maximize the recovery of lost pictures, my suggestions are:
(1) Immediately stop shooting new photos. This is to avoid lost photos be overwritten by the new photos, which will cause the lost photos unrecoverable.
(2) Download and install the professional Olympus Photo Recovery software (http://www.olympus-photo-recovery.com/) to your PC or Mac, and restore the lost files ASAP.
Best wishes!

If you are using a memory card, take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. There are many good freeware photo recovery software options that are available to help you recover your photos. This blog article reviews and outlines several of the better ones.
All the download links listed in the article are through CNET, primarily to verify that these are malware free software, and to give you a chance to read user reviews on the software before downloading.

Software is unable to find Olympus Digital camera connected to USB port

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Problem with the Olympus FE-115 Digital Camera my

Unfortunately, the picture error message means that the image been modified such that the camera can't read it. It is possible that the camera thinks the picture was taken by another camera. Since the picture is still good when you check it with the computer, it hasn't been damaged. Archive the picture and make sure to back it up after it goes on the computer. (If the computer couldn't view it, then you'd need some sort of file recovery software and might not get the entire image back.)

Manuals for the FE-115 are available from the Olympus site: http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_archived_product_details.asp?id=1227&fl=8 .

I hope this helps.

Cannot load and use Olympus Master 2 on my computer.

You don't have to use the Olympus software.

Night Vision-esqe look in all pictures.

I have had the same problem with my Kodak Z812 IS. It is caused by a bad image sensor, a costly repair unless it is still under warranty. Does it happen mostly with macro photos?

Picture error

I would recheck all of my settings on the camera. Go to the menu and check everything one by one. Your card may be damaged also. Do you have another card to try? Do you have your manual? If not you can to to www.olympus.com to download a new manual specifically for your camera and it may address this issue. Good luck.
