Epson told me it needed to be serviced but I did not accept that. It was hardly used. But everything I tried failed at first. Cleaning the print head barely showed any inprovement. Finally I just removed all the ink cartridges, then just put them back in. Something reset is my guess. Cleaned again and now it is printing without any lines. As good as new so far...

My research shows that you must use special printable CD/DVD media which generally costs a bit more than nonprintable media. Possibly that is the reason. You don't give much info on what happens - if it feeds and the result is blurry I would think it is the media.

When printing text I get extra lines or dots of ink next to or under the printed text

It sounds like you have lint on the bottom of the print head. ttle fuzz balls will collect down there and they catch drops of ink and leave little lines as they go across the page. buy an Epson head cleaning kit on ebay. It will include a cleaning fluid and a special foam tipped cleaning wand. Do not use a q-tip.

Hi, When printing photos, my photos have horizontal light coloured lines across them. When I print the nozzle check pattern all colours match the guide with the exception of the light magenta....

Epsons are notorious for this sort of problem, especially in used infrequently as ink residue dries on the print head; try using a cleaning cartridge, or swab around relevant print head with cotton bud and ethanol/isopropyl alcohol. Here are examples of cleaning carts, there are others http://www.internet-ink.co.uk/epson-cleaning-cartridges/ http://www.icompinkcartridges.co.uk/epson-r200-r300-r220-r320-r340-cleaning-kit.html

Red and blue lines across printouts

open printing preferences and click on maintenance. Run the print head alignment utility. Sometimes this will remove the horizontal banding. I had this same problem and had to uninstall the printer and reinstall just like it was new, running the alignment feature before it was corrected. Worked ok for a few days then started again. I assumed that the printhead is bad. To costly to repair and bought a new printer.

Stylus Photo R320 "printer driver dealing with CD printing...

I had the same problem and was able to get my EPSON Stylus Photo R220 to print a CD using the following procedure. This should work for other Epson Photo printers as well.
1.     Open EPSON Print CD
2.     When CD is ready for printing do the following:
3.     Select Print from the File menu
4.     When “The EPSON printer driver dealing with CD printing is not installed” is displayed – click OK and select Manual Print
5.     Set Paper Size to A4 and click OK
6.     In Layout select Print Settings
7.     In Media Type select CD/DVD
8.     Then press Print

New Canon Rebel xti photos won't print on my Epson Photo R320

Re-install the printer after downloading the latest driver from Epson. It is quite likely that the Canon software has over written the colour profile for the Epson.
