We have had a panasonic KX-A141ALM (two handsets) for about 6 years. Yesterday they suddenly had no dial tone. We checked all plugs & connections, the handsets are charged and we have now changed the AAA batteries inside them. We tried calling our number from mobiles and could not hear the phones ringing but it rang through to our Telsta message bank (so the line itself is OK). Have they just died or is there something wecan do?

We have this model also, and have exerienced similar problems. Try disconnecting all of the phone lines for that ph number, for a minimum of 30 seconds. Reconnect and the line should be functioning again. It always works for me.

Hi There, me too. I have the same models. one is on our fax machine and the other is remote. One does not ring, sometimes does not answer, other times it won't ring out. bugged if i know, i'm investing in another handset but am unsure if the later models will pair to the base station............good luck

More on this subject....I have a feeling that my problem began when we installed a new ADSL2 modem. It has a wireless feature with an arial. Perhaps this interfers with the signal for the base station to the phones? I am trying to figure out the signal range and maybe the modem is configurable.

How do I install my Panasonic KXTGA401 phone?

The KX-TGA401 is a handset for specific Panasonic cordless telephone systems. Connecting the handset requires registering (pairing) it with the base and if the base can support another handset. First make sure that the base is plugged into an active phone line (land line) and that the power adapter is plugged in and working properly. Charge the handset before attempting the registration process.

Then make sure that the phone system is in standby (no calls). Press and hold the Locator button on the base for about 5 seconds (wait until the tone sounds). If all of the handsets that are already registered ring, press and release the Locator button and then press and hold it again. Once you hear the registration tone (some models), place the new handset in the charger on the base. Wait for the long beep and the registered symbol to appear.

If the not registered symbol appears, try registering by using the handset menu. Press Menu # 1 3 0 (the key below 9 and individual number keys) on the handset. Press and hold the locator button until you hear the registration tone as above. Then press Select and Save on the handset within 90 seconds of hearing the registration tone. Wait for the handset and base to complete the registration process. You'll hear a long beep.

The first registration method is given in the manual for the handset, http://help.panasonic.ca/viewing/ALL/KX-TGA401/OI/TGA401_PNQX2390ZA/TGA401_PNQX2390ZA.pdf. The second is from the page 31 of the manual for the KX-TG653x (KX-TG6531 base) system, ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/telephone/om/kx-tg6511_mul_om.pdf . The KX-TGA401 handset works with other bases as well. You may want to check the manual for your phone system in case there are differences. Other compatible phone systems are the KX-TG401x, KX-TG403x, and KX-TG651x.

I hope this helps.

My land lines are working but all my handsets say check tel line...no dial tone or response. Batteries are good according to tester. Anything I can do??

ck the red and green wire that goes to the system those 2 make the phones work just do the main main phone first , , it does not sound like the phones are broke you are not getting a dial tone due to no connection to the line itself

Panasonic KX-T7433

These phones are digital proprietary telephones which means that they only work on panasonic telephone systems and not on normal analog lines. If you have a panasonic system the correct way is to plug the line into the " To Main Unit ", the handset into " Handset/Headset" and a normal analog phone into " To Tel ". If the wiring on the line jack was not done digitally the phone will also not work

vonage gives you a personal voicemail. You should contact them and find out how to retrieve it first. If you have your companys voicemail on the panasonic you should also make sure that vonage voicemail get longer waiting time.

My KX-TG 8231B

Make sure the phone is pluggd into the wall properly. If so and no dial tone is detectable make sure you installed the batterys on the handsets correctly and that they are fully charged. If you have a friendly neighbor with a working phone line plug youre phone into their line and if it does not work and you followed my previous instructions seek a repair center in youre area that honors panasonic warranties. If the phone is pluggd in at the neighbors house and it works use it to call the phone company.
