The possibility is faulty water inlet valve. The valve lets the water to enter the machine. But if this valve is got weak/faulty then it will not stop the water from entering. If the water fill vale is checked ok then other possibility is faulty water fill valve switch. The switch detects the required water in the washing machine and shuts the fill valve off,but if the switch is faulty then it will not shut the water fill valve off and this will not stop the water from filling and this overfills the water. So most cases the water fill valve is faulty and it has to be replaced. But if the fill valve is checked ok then other possibility is faulty water fill valve switch. It's usually a diaphragm device with a small, clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. To get required parts ,you can get it from www.repairclinic.com . Keep updated if any more queries.Thanks.

Crosley Professional Washer. Why is my washer stopping at beginning of fill cycle?

Question edited for clarity. 'field cycle' to fill cycle.

Do you hear water running? Water inlet valve failed.

or

Taking too long to fill. Check the strainers in the rear where the hose connects and check water flow from the hose.

Also try a power disconnect overnight to do a power reset of the control board.

=============================================
If the cold water supply is slow or not entering the tub at all, the washer will stop ahead of the rinse cycle while waiting for the tub to fill. This can be caused by a clogged water inlet valve, the main water supply valve being partially closed, or low water supply pressure from the home.

My ge top load washer will not stop filling up with water

The water level switch shuts the water off when it gets to the desired amount. Also change the water level to low and see if it stops at different level.

Water level

Probable causes:
Faulty water inlet valve - unplug washer, if water continues to fill
replace the valve.
Water level switch, hose or dome faulty - service the assembly.
Timer faulty - unplug washer, if water stops filling test timer.

Doesnot stop filling water

To javed_iqb904, does the drum actually fill or does it seem like that water is draining out as it's filling?

To neonllama19, if it fills with the tap on and the machine off, it sounds like a defective water valve. If it never stopped filling it sounds like a defective pressure switch or hose to the pressure switch is loose or diconnected.

Water doesn't stop filling

If you turn power off to machine (or unplug) and washer continues to fill, you need to replace the water inlet valve. (the part the hoses connect to) If cutting power stops the water fill, you have a problem with the water level switch or the tubing leading to it.

Fill will not stop

you may have a problem with your pressure switch. or sometimes they call it the water level switch.

try to use it in the small level and see if it would stop filling around medium or large quantities of water.

if it would stop filling , then replace the water level sensor.
