The television set came on one day with a blank screen, started working later, then froze up and went off, we have been unable to get the television to come on at all. There is no picture and no sound, no power at all.
Please connect the TV to different power outlet and check if its switching on if not check the fuse , then the power chord , power board may have failed and this is hard ware failure, OR you can download the repair manual from this link:

good luck..................
Hi,
The power supply has gone bad. I would suggest donot attempt to power on the system multiple times, as it may damage something more inside. The following are the phone number to call Proton support.
+1-323-980-8292
+1-323-980-8293
If the system is under warranty , the company may service the same free of charge, subject to some conditions.
If you could give the exact model of the LCD and the serial number at the back, i would try to find a self help solution to your problem.
Thanks
mandeep
Something on the powerboard has failed, either capasitors, fuses, etc. If you have experience in electronics, you could inspect the board and replace possibly bad components, but if you have no experience its best to take it to a professional.
You can get a 2nd opition by asking from one of our top tv repair experts on this site

Sounds to me a power ICB has gone bad if you can get it replaced under warranty that is your best bet. If not then you can call the manufacturer and have them fixes still at your expense. I would call them in advance and get a price for it all general estimation. Make sure its what you want to do.
hope this helps answer your problems

it looks as though from what i can find these units have a problem with going dead. So you should call the manufacturer. Although from what im finding its just ends up being easier to buy a new tv as its seeming the repairs through them costed up to 250 dollars. One review i found stated they had to send the tv back to be serviced twice.
actually scratch calling protron from what i found they dont support there products.
click here to find out about protron.
there are hundreds of reports like that so it may just be a best bet to look into a new tv if its out of warranty. sorry to have to tell you that, as its what no one likes to hear.
glad i could help,
Thanks,
