Hello, because there are various control circuits inside your set. These components become over heated and eventually defective over time. Depending on year of manufacturing and how long this set has been in use, typically your mainboard would be effected with this symptom. Since there's no switching it on or off, that option and all the display or sound control options are controlled by your mainboard, it needs to be serviced or replaced. be aware that that would be a first place to start it doesn't mean there aren't other boards or components effected but with those symptoms this is the first board to check. hope this helps, best regards.

Proton 32, most plasma and lcd TV's have internal boards a few control the stability or video display these secondary boards are controlled by a main board. if your having sound or tv function issues the main board may be defective. is it worth fixing? that depends on the service center and what they are estimating it to cost. it is repairable by replacing the main board and that's if your screen itself is not the factor yet also consider the price for the repair vs. the price of a new set. you can get this part at auction sites or buy it online and repair it yourself or with a someone who understands electronics that would save you some cash. best regards..
