Emprex uses the Memorex codes. They are 1002, 1004, 1005, 1010

We would be happy to help you with that. Currently the onlycode we have that will allow you to control your Emprex TV is 597. If this codedoes not work we would recommend doing a power scan.

Power scan instructions:

Step 1:
Press and hold the TV mode button until all mode button back lights illuminate,then release.

Step 2:
Press and release the Power button.

Step 3:
Press the Up button once a second while pointing the remote at the desiredequipment. If the code for the equipment comes up, the equipment will poweroff.

Step 4:
Press the pound (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, themode light flashes three times.

After doing the power scan please remember to put the remote back into SATmode. Thanks so much for being a valued DISH Network customer.

What is wrong with it.

What exactly happens when the set shuts off?...does the power indicator lamp stay on, or does it blink. Also do you still have sound?

Back-light inverter board will have a fuse. Refer its circuit diagram to locate it. If it should blow up, there will be sufficient reason. Some short circuited components/s. Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board.
