A lot of water has collected in the bottom of the refrigerator. The drin pan at the outside bottom is dry. I ran an insulated piece of wire tp the drain line but encountered an obstacle or "turn in line" beyond which I could not reach. I hesitate trying to access the freezer / defroster area because of fear of damage. I assume line is plugged but it maky be fr ozen. Can I expect to clear the pluggage or should I call service man. I am afraid it may need other parts / repairs by serviceman only?

When defrosting bottom freezer where does water collect?

Hi,

The water will normally drain out out the lowest point of the freezer and collect in a drain pan outside of the unit close to the compressor area unless its a built-in unit. I hope this helps

Water from freezer compartment collecting at bottom of frig; under veg. drawers.

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove panel back/bottom of freezer..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water2_bing.gif in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curtain2_bing.gif wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the fridge is because the water has been leaking into the freezer and down the vent into the fridge instead of running2_bing.gif into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you have any other question. Frigidaire refridge has water at bottom of interior pan is dry where is water coming from?

WHEN THE REFRIGERATOR GOES THROUGH ITS DEFROST CYCLE IT PRODUCES MOISTURE WHICH COLLECTS IN THIS PAN. THIS IS NORMAL. ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS DUMP THIS AND CHECK EVERY FEW MONTHS. HOPE THIS HELPS. GOOD LUCK.

Water on floor

is possible that the plastic tube that leeds in the pan is obstructed or in a wrong position, check if water goes in the pan just put some water trought from the inside hole in the fridge and check if it reach the pan, maybe the inclination of the fridge is not sufficient, ( it has to be inclined to the wall direction so the water slides on the back inside wall of the fridge. can also be poor insulation of the fridge, so the outside surfaces come wet because of the hight air temperature outside and the cold surfaces of the fridge, then the water slides down the floor...make sure about air ventilation around the fridge!...I hope it was useful!

Fridge is leaking water all over the place.

The defrost drain opening or drain hose is plugged up with ice or crud. If the drip pan is bone dry, it's a sure sign that the drain opening or drain hose is clogged. Trace the drain hose back to see where it pick up the condensate in the refrigerator cabinet. Remove whatever pieces you need to to clean that sucker out. Door gaskets are torn or not making good contact with the cabinet. No? Well then where's all that water coming from, Einstein? It can only come from the humidity in the outside air--your fridge can't make water, dontcha know
