2389 model Jeff of Clayton, CA Original review: June 2, 2006 We purchased a Jenn-Air JCD2389GES side by side four years ago. We thought we were buying a quality refrigerator, with a name brand that was respectable and with the idea that you get what you pay for. We went ahead and spent $2200 on purchasing this and within a year noticed that it made noises, the refrigerator side didn't stay cold and the freezer side froze food that developed freezer burn with in a week. Just this past week the refrigerator was on the coldest setting and the food was slightly above room temperature. It's a Jenn-Air, you will need a service call. They are totally electronic and very complex. Look in the manual first as there may be a child lock function on the controls. It sounds like a thermister has failed though which is a temperature control device. It shouldn't freeze at 38'F, 6' above freezing.

If you jumper the yellow and white wires you should activate the heater,, if the thermostat and heater are good.

sounds like your icemaker is jammed.

first ofall just feel around the icemaker and see if you can find a peice of ice jamming it that you can remove. if that doesnt work heat it up with a blow dryer until any ice that is there will melt away and it will free up..

there is one other possibility: the stripper could be jammed against the side of the icemaker in which case you'll have to remove the icemaker from the refrig and unjam it..

The water filter is located in the
upper right-hand corner of the fresh
food compartment.
1. Remove blue bypass cap and
retain for later use.
2. Remove sealing label from end
of filter and insert into filter head.
3. Rotate gently clockwise until
filter stops. Snap filter cover
closed.
4. Reduce water spurts by
flushing air from system.
Run water continuously for
two minutes through
dispenser until water runs steady. During initial
use, allow about a one- to two-minute delay in
water dispersal to allow internal water tank to fill.

Possible faulty water solenoid valve may be the problem not letting water through.

Sounds like cooling coils inside ref. that cools the water before the dispenser in the door.
These coils are in the back bottom of ref, behind crispers. They may be leaking.
