My Kenwood dishwasher KDW24FI/B has worked fine for approx 2 years. But now when I put my dishwasher on, the cycle never seems to end. After a few hours of running I opened the door to find the tablet hadn't dissolved but lots of steam coming out. I tried 2 more times and the same thing happened. The pump is working and everything seems ok. After reading the manual I have noticed the salt and rinse aid lights are iluminated. I have never put salt or rinse aid in since I had the dishwasher so this may be irrelivent. Can you help please?

Dishwasher wan't fill with water

The water valve may look fine but the solenoid may not be opening to allow water in. You said that everything else works fine except no water supply to the dishwasher. This sounds like a bad soleniod valve. Check for continuity on the valve with an ohms meter after you start it. Be careful.

Whirlpool Dishwasher won't drain during normal cycle

As you say a clogged line or valve does not make sense.

Try running it without the heated drying and see if it empties or if the cancel button will work then.

The dishes should air dry quickly if you empty it and open the door.

It could be a defective thermostat allowing it to get too hot during the heat cycle

3 lights are flashing at end of dishwashing cycle cycle

I shut off the dishwasher, held a few of the buttons together at the same time, let it sit for 5 minutes, then restarted it and it worked!

Start button not working...can't get machine to start

The micro switch is bad. I had the same problem cleaned the switch a few time (nd bought some time) but in the end I moved a switch from a cycle we did not use to the start position. Cost was nothing but my time (must have skills in soldering PCB assy). Worked fine since, almost a year now. However I have had several unrelated problems and would thing twice before putting any major money into this unit. In the 3 years I;'ve had this unit I've fixed the switch, installed a new pump assy and put in 2 thermal switches (unit appears dead when they go bad). I've done all this myself and the bills would be between $700 nad $1,000 to call service.
