I have a Price Pfister 42-YP bathroom
faucet that would only drool out the cold side. I shut off the water
supply, removed the faucet handle with an allen key, uncrewed the top
ring (protecting the finish with a cloth), uncrewed the retaining
piece below it and took out the cartridge and inspected the innards.
Air would flow easily through the hot and cold side of the cartridge
simply by blowing, so I ruled that out. I disconnected the cold water
supply from the faucet and used a small air compressor to blow first
from the bottom up and then from the top down at about 40 PSI . I put
it all back together and now everything works like new. If the air
blew out any debris, I did not see it.
Hi, David pressuming the water flow was good before you put in this new tap, then other than a problem with the tap! have you checked if you have an isolater valve on the pipe work under the unit, if so check that it is fully opened?
Thanks Paul.
No and you can thank you government rep next time you see or talk to him for this. The valve is set to give no more than 110 to 115 degree water and cannot be changed. If you want hotter water you will need to install a non-scald faucet. Now if you are not getting to the 110 degree mark then you will need to disassemble the valve body and look for debris in the hot water inlet side.
Now when it is apart turn the water on low and flush the piping out before putting it back together.
