Yes this is totally normal for the more basic ranges, lower cost = less parts. The only thing you are losing out on is the life span of the oven bottom as it will be getting super heated where the flames hit it so the porcelain coat will wear faster than models with the spreader pan.

How to Find Model Number on Magic Chef Oven Hunker

Quoting the link above:

Step 1 Open the oven door. At the top, left-hand corner of the open oven, locate the model number tag.
Step 2 Check under the burners. Lift each burner on the stove off to see if the plate is underneath. Do this if the plate is not located on the inside of the oven.

Electric ge hotpoint 317b6641p001

The burner is just a plug in unit. Take off the plate on the top and lift up on the opposite side for the burner from where it is plugged in. Give it a pull and it will come out just fine and plug the new one in.

Old appliance serial numbers

The older appliances oftentimes have their serial numbers in strange places. For an oven, I would suggest the siding, the back (particularly in the bottom left corner or top right) and on the inside brim of the door. The only other place I have found a serial number was on the back on the top, under a metal plate. You can oftentimes go online or call the makers so find out where the number is hidden. For example, http://www.caesarsappliances.com might have where the serial numbers are online if you bought something there.

How do I know if my Hotpoint oven 920 years old0 is on a 220 0r 120 line? The serial plate says 120/220.

An oven uses both 120 & 220 -- actually it would be 120 volts and 240 volts or nominally, 110 volt and 220 volt.

The 120 is used for the lights. The 240 is used for the heating elements.

A 240 volt breaker (nominally 220 volt) -- supplies both 120 and 240 volts depending on how the supply is connected to the appliance.

There will be a 240 volt (nominally 220 volt) breaker in the main panel for the oven. This is two 120 volt breakers side-by-side with their toggle switches connected together with a strap across the top of the toggles.

HotPoint model# RB787WC4WW : Clock is functioning, all lights are on, but the burners and oven won't function. Is there a fuse or relay on this model ,and if so where is it located. I've taken the...

your oven may be on a 3 phase connection that mean you have 3 supplies to it.
one phase may be running the clock and fan etc.
the other two maybe for the burnters .
check in your house fuse or trip switch box and ensure that all trips are on and or fuses are not blown. this is usually where your electic meter is located.

if this is the case switch the circuit back on, if the fuse goes again this may indicate a fault either in your home or with your oven. if so call in an expert to check.

warning. high voltage electricity is dangerous if unsure call out a qualifed electrician or speak to your electicity supplier for advice.

i hope this was useful

Got a very old blodget oven was very good dont want to loose it so i need price for a new burners and the the base plates inside

I'll need a model # & serial # from the oven, if you cant find it behind the control panel inside left then, remove the bottom panel where the burners are & look inside it. Last resort, send pictures of parts needed and I will match them up with my parts manual. [email protected]

Hotpoint oven glowbar not working

My oven glowbar stopped working christmas morning. Yesterday we bought a whirlpool brand (igntr-oven #4342528) because it is twenty something dollars cheaper then GE. My husband installed it today. The only difference is you have to splice the wires (it comes with everthing you need) The first time he put it in it did not work because he had the wires backwards. He switched the wires and now its working fine.
My oven is two years old also.
