Hopefully someone answered your question by now. If not, the glass bulb cover sticks sometimes, but it does turn counterclockwise. Be firm with it, let it know who's boss. Once you've removed it, you can replace the 40 watt appliance bulb. (The manual suggests you unplug the range or disconnect power for your safety). Good luck.

It appears your heating element/coil has failed in this instance.

Passing on the solution. Some other blogger helped me, so I hope this will help you. Mine is a Kenmore Gas range, but the hinges might be similar. They are fixed on the door, not on the range. Get a couple sturdy nails or similar items and keep them in your hand. Use your foot to push the hinge all the way down, as if the door were fully open. You should see a hole in the hinge, in which to insert the nail to hold the hinge open. Repeat on the other hinge. Carefully lift the door in place and set the hinges so they hook onto the latches properly. You should be able to open the door a bit to take the tension off the nails. remove the nails, and that should be it. Even if your hinges aren't the same as mine, the principle seems to apply. My problem (maybe yours) was that I couldn't open the hinges and keep them open when trying to replace the door. They just would snap closed. Very frustrating.

Please use the chart to determine which stove you have. You will have to look at the model number. The first 3 numbers will be the series on the chart. In most cases an F1 error would require replacment of the electronic control. This part is commonly refered to as an EOC or ERC. However this type of repair is usually reserved for repair specialists.

Press the self-clean button.  The panel becomes blank(---), then press the up arrow( ^ ).  The panel will appear 3:00 (indication for the duration of self-cleaning). The oven will lock on its own and start the self-cleaning.  Good luck, ya'll!

Articles on the internet suggest not using the self cleaning feature of modern ovens, becuase fuses and other parts may easily burn out due to the high temperature. do you have a button with a small padlock symbol? yes hold for 10 seconds no..do you have start button? press and hold for 5 seconds no...how about a clear/off press and hold for a full 3 seconds. Sorry I'm at home and the teck guides are not here. So I gave it what I know from memory. last but not least try turning off the breaker to it for a minute. Hope this helps a little.
