Hotpoint Ovens - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

I have one of these, mine is named Cannon. There are two fans. One that comes on when the main oven is used and heating, the other is for air cirsulation for the top or small oven and has nothing to do with the heating or cooling of the top oven. If it doesn't reach temperature, I would be looking at the thermocouple/thermostat as a first suspect.

To reinstall the glass door buffers on your Hotpoint oven model ShY23X, you can follow these steps:

I've an EW 71 with exactly the same problem! Thought it was the element but then noticed that there were two elements to the top oven - so very unlikely that both would go at once.<br />Tested to see if the switch was the guilty party by turning it on using the upper oven switch and indeed both elements heated!<br />If yours is doing the same then it's the switch....<br />... Your best option is to either approach Hotpoint directly or go to a good appliance supplier/repairer and ask if they can order you one.

Very well could be, but I would check the heating element. Unless you have tools and skill to check you will need to call for service. Given the situation in UK you may be better served using main oven if possible.

There are usually more than one element in an oven with a grill.

Is there an Oven timer on it? You need it professionally serviced. Ordinary people aren't permitted to work on gas appliances themselves without certification. Gas is too dangerous, poisonous and explosive! Contact Hotpoint direct, if that is a known issue, it will be the subject of a recall.

TRY UNPLUGGING IT THEN IF IT DOES NOT WORK CALL A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP
