Dell 3300 MP Projector

The images are too dark. Brightness is turned all the way up and lamp hours are only 500 on a 3000 hour lamp. What other adjustments can I make to see a brighter image

Hello,

I think this is a lamp issue. Even though your lamp might have an advertised time of 3000 hrs from Dell, it can fail and dim a lot earlier than that. Often within 1000 hrs a projector lamp's brightness can be reduced by up to 40%. Projector lamps brightness and lamp life varies according to how you use your projector and the environment it is in. Our company sells projector lamps and has created a YouTube video to help people get the most out of their projector lamps. You can see the video below. If you decide to buy a new lamp we have the lamp you need in stock at Projector Lamp Experts.

Hope this helps..

Your lamp only worked 500h, so i think it is not the problem of lamp.
i wonder how long you bought this projector?
did you inspect the light tunnel? possibly it is the light tunnel issue.

I have a Kodak Ektagraphic with no model listed on it at all. How can I find a replacement bulb, all I can find look wrong.

Supplied with 82V, 300W EXR lamp Projection Lamps Quartz-halogen 82 V projection lamps- Here is service manual link http://resources.kodak.com/support/pdf/en/manuals/slideProj/manual/ektagraphic_sm.pdf Several different Models all say EXR 300W As CORRECT Bulb : EXR, 300 W (35-hour lamp life at full lamp/medium-brightness) Sampling of other lamps: EXY (200 hours/less brightness) EXW (15 hours/maximum brightness) FHS (70 hours/medium brightness) Use combinations of lamp brightness, plus half- and full-lamp settings to approximate image brightness in multi-projector presentations. Lamp Tips • Projector operation on line voltages above 125 volts greatly reduces the lamp life. • Unplug the projector before changing the lamp. • Allow for unrestricted flow of air to the exhaust vent to prolong lamp life. • Gently wipe off any fingerprints with a soft cloth moistened with rubbing alcohol.

Dell 1800 mp

Hi, This may be telling you that the lamp needs replacing. Have a look at the specifications of your projector and note the operating hours of the led lamp. Work out how many hours you have used it for providing it is a Dell part. equivalent parts may have a shorter life. If the led is flashing orange there is a stock fault of a 3300 micro farad capacitor fault in the power supply. Search other reports for this same error.
Do not buy another lamps until you know it is faulty or past its useful life.
These cost about 99 each. Tim

Picture way too dark to watch comfortably. Have already adjust all settings to maximize brightness. Bulb was replaced late last year and says 1,000 hours have been used but projector has not prompted me...

Unfortunately dim image is normally due to a defective lamp assembly. I'd recommend removing the lamp and inspecting its condition. You'll notice black corrosion build up or a bubble is starting to form around the filament of the bulb if it is what's causing the dim image.

Proxima DT 5800 works but picture is much brighter with the lights out ,what could cause to be not as bright with lights on?

The Proxima DP5800 projector is a small format low powered projector at only 650 lumens (brightness measurement). It simply doesn't have enough lumens to cut through ambient light and display a clean image. It is best used in a dark room.

Also bulb age will play a factor in overall brightness. The lamps for that projector are only rated for 700 hours, and as they near the life expectancy they can lose up to 50% of their lumens.

The image is very dim, even on maximum brightness. We are considering replacing the bulb, but bulbs for this projector are very expensive and we suspect that since there is some image, the bulb is not the...

Yes, as bulbs age they will begin losing brightness. Most projectors have a bulb life hour clock, that measures the number of hours a bulb has been used. Usually you can pull that up within the menu of the projector. Also that particular model has what is called "Eco-Mode" and when engaged dims the bulb by 25% to cut down on power consumption.

Typical life for a lamp in that projector is:

3000 hours on Normal mode
6000 hours on Eco mode

You can expect a brightness loss of 50% when you are approaching end of a lamps life.
