The solution for paring the explorer 240 is found in the bottom of the product page for the embedded link on the User Guide Link. I have also provided the instructions below. I hope this helps

How to Pair Your Phone With Your Headset for the First Time

1 Turn on the Bluetooth feature on your phone.
For most phones, select Settings/Tools > Connections >
Bluetooth > On. See your phone’s user guide for more information.
2 Turn the headset on.
Turn on your headset by sliding the Power Switch toward the microphone. Wait until the indicator light flashes red then blue.
If you don’t see the red then blue flashes, turn the headset off, then turn it on again. Press and hold the Call Control button until you see the red then blue flashes that indicate pairing mode status.
3 Set your Bluetooth phone to ‘discover’ to locate the headset.
This usually involves going to ‘setup’, ‘connect’ or ‘Bluetooth’ menu on your phone and selecting the option to ‘discover’ or ‘add a device’.
4 Once available headsets are listed, select your headset (for example 2XXPlantronics or 3XXPlantronics). If prompted for a passkey, enter 0000.
When pairing is successful, the indicator on your headset flashes blue. Your phone will also confirm when pairing is complete.

My bluetooth is paired i can not hear out of it

t sounds like the phone and headset may not be paired up correctly.
First, remember that newer phones are like small computers, so they
may become corrupt over time and you may need to reset them every so
often. Simply turn your phone off and remove the battery for a few
seconds, then replace the battery and turn it back on. Purge from the
phone any pairing information for your Explorer 240 headset and pair
it again to your phone, following carefully the instructions on the
attached link for the Plantronics Explorer 240. Also, make sure there
isn't any other bluetooth interference.

Explorer 240 keeps shutting down even if Iphone 4 is in pocket. need to power off or resett bluetooth on phone

It may be something having to do with an upgrade application that may have been done. If this was what happened then you may have to down grade back to original settings. If this is not the case I would do a hard reset with cell phone let your battery go dead, remove from phone. place it back in and recharge re do the pair and or subscribe.

CAN I CONNECT A THIS TO A LAPTOP? IF I CAN HOW?

You can use the Plantronics Explorer 240 on your computer if your computer has Bluetooth built in. Just turn on the Bluetooth feature in the computer and pair up the headset. You can get a USB Bluetooth adapter if your pc doesn't have Bluetooth built in, then just pair the headset to the adapter. Here is a link for the 230 / 240 user guide, it will have the pairing instructions for the Explorer 240.

I have a droid x and a friend gave me an plantronics explorer 240 cause she had gotten another one. I thanked her not thinking to ask how it worked like what buttons was what and how to connect it to my...

First of all, go into Settings and then Wireless & Network settings on your Droid X, then push Turn on Bluetooth. The check mark in the box should be green once its on. Then click Bluetooth Settings. Meanwhile, turn on your headset by sliding the power switch towards the microphone. The light should flash blue and red. Now go back to your phone and push Scan for Devices, at which point you should see something like "XXXPlantronicsHeadsetXXX". Push that, and it should work. IF it asks you for a passcode, its 0000.
