Operating system not found

Please help, acer aspire 5515 was dropped and now all I can get is operating system not found when trying to start.

Ok, well either the drop has broken something on the motherboard, or, the hard drive, has been jolted so hard the heads have crashed into the platter, and killed the HDD. I would almost guarantee, that is whats wrong. Try taking out your HDD, hook it up to a USB, to HDD "Dongle" and see if your HDD responds, If it doesn't then you need a new HDD, if it does, the fault, is within the laptops circuits.

yes it may be related to bios setting . Just enter your bios in the laptop (F2)
and for HD change the SATA to ATA or vice-versa. SAVE and retry boot.

(it can also be AHCI to ATA or ATA to AHCI.)

I have aspire acer 5515 when turned on it sas operating system not found.... I have no boot diskd etc that came with the computer where can I obtain the disks to fix it....

Here is a site that will show you how to make a rescue disk (recovery console), for all windows OS's. Also has link to a very good free ISO burner. Burn to cd instead of dvd if possible.

My user password on a acer

Restart the computer pressing the "F8" key. When a list comes up choose "Start in safe mode". Log in as the administrator. Go to the control panel and choose "User Accounts" then click your username and hit change password.
