Check batteries on the remote/or hide remote and see if it stops/if not bigger problem
I own a Vizio E320VA TV which developed a similar problem not long after purchase. I'd heard that bad capacitors are a common problem, so I exposed the power supply and looked for signs of failure. Usually when electrolytic caps fail they'll be swollen and maybe ruptured, but in this case I couldn't see any tell-tale faults. I was ticked-off enough to desolder the electrolytic caps one-by-one on the power supply partition of the board in order to test them until I found one that read significantly different than its rating. I didn't have a meter to test its ESR, but that was probably also failing and overloading a voltage regulator causing a dip in output which would've screwed with logic. I replaced that cap and the TV has worked well for 3 years since.
The manufacturers should be embarrassed that their products are failing for these cheap parts. The money saved by scrimping there can't possible be worth their good names... the only reason they're getting away with it is that people don't know about what's actually going on. This is not a problem specific to Vizio. Other common TV issues are with capacitive touch buttons - which failed on the other TV in my household (an LG). Too bad we can't just find out who makes good stuff and buy from them...they all cut corners so our dollars have little voting power.
